The Inspector General's Report on the Origins of the Russia Investigation
The Washington Examiner is reporting that Attorney General William Barr May Already Have the Inspector General's report on the origins of the Russia investigation. The source of the information is Sean Hannity, who reportedly said that the investigation is "done and it's devastating," and that, ""Sources are telling me it may now have already been handed to the attorney general."
But does it really matter what the Inspector General says in his report? We've already witnessed how Barr can misrepresent the "context, nature, and substance" (quoting from Mueller's letter to Barr) of a report.
The FBI investigation of Russian campaign interference and possible Trump campaign involvement seems necessary given what we already know, but if the facts on the ground change then minds should change. And whether the investigation was justified or not, if any wrongdoing was committed in initiating or conducting the investigation then those responsible should be held accountable. But the Inspector General's report and the evidence it contains should be our guide, not Barr's interpretation.
Though Trump had no evidence of misconduct at the time, he fired or had fired those he held responsible for the investigation into his campaign, then he finally found an Attorney General willing to bend the truth to make it say whatever Trump wants it to say. It isn't new news to note that Barr is busily tearing down the reputation he built up over 40 years in government service and is possibly the most political Attorney General in our country's history. Whatever doubts of this some might have harbored were removed once Barr started pretending that spying is not a pejorative term. As normally used, spying is what enemies do to each other, and Barr evidently views the DOJ before he headed it as the enemy.

More on Republican suppression of democracy
From The New York Times:
With 2020 Looming, Parties Fight State by State Over Voting Access
As is recognized by many, Republicans have trouble maintaining their majorities in a democratic system so they have been engaging in a variety of tactics to suppress voting and registration, especially among groups that tend to vote Democrat.
These efforts lately have begun to stall and even be reversed because - surprise! - people actually like democracy!
With the presidential election 18 months away, a series of state-level struggles are underway this spring to control the rules for voting in 2020. But warnings of stolen votes and corrupted voter rolls that used to reliably muster support for restrictions are now being countered by citizen initiatives to restore voting rights and a wave of grass-roots activism. And suddenly, the fights are not so lopsided.
The article describes how attemps by Republican to enact their shenanigans into law have not been able to get out of the legislature, been vetoed by governors, or reversed by voter initiatives. Sometimes it is even Republican politicians that oppose anti-democracy!
And Arizona’s legislature set aside $530,000 in the final hours of its session for an “election integrity unit” in the office of the Republican attorney general, Mark Brnovich. He has said he will principally use the money not to hunt down illegal ballots, but to shoot down unfounded rumors of election theft.
And heres the money quote:
Ms. Ugenti-Rita [a Republican state Senator in Arizona] acknowledged that fraud in Arizona elections is negligible.
So Ugenti-Rita is admitting she wants to prevent something that is currently not a problem with a "solution" that has been shown to cause other problems.

If this was a witch hunt, it found a lot of witches. -- David Cole, writing about the Mueller investigation.

Not surprising that your hero is a violent psychopath. And dumb as a stump.

Oh she is so brave. Whined like a baby and lied when they arrested her. Doesn't even have the conviction of her own beliefs and own up to what she did. Hypocritical loser.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts
"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.
If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

The guy is a nutter. The “Q” (more often “QAnon”) stuff is crazy nonsense. Faith shouldn’t worry about what we say about Trump supporters. She should be worried about what her fellow Trump supporters say.

Today is the anniversary of D Day, does anyone care?
I suppose I DO care what the Brits think of us, what they think of Trump. I'm glad to see there are at least a few who think he's a good President. They understand what our shared history is all about, the values and principles we have shared over the years, the reason we were willing to sacrifice so much to defend Europe in the last world war.
I guess that's just culture under the bridge, as it were, to some here, stuff we can just forget about as time marches on and culture changes. I wonder if we could muster a DDay invasion any more.

I care, it's good to remember a time when America was willing to stand up to Nazis instead of calling them very fine people.

Re: Today is the anniversary of D Day, does anyone care?
Yes, the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion. I expect most Americans are aware of and appreciate the sacrifices that were made there and everywhere we fought the enemies of freedom.
My dad was a marine in the South Pacific and was wounded at the battle of Tarawa. One of his brothers was with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy. I am proud of them and all Americans who serve our country.
They both would proudly cut Trump's throat.
