The whole point of that law is to get Christian business owners to refuse to serve a gay wedding so they can be punished for refusing.
Again, poor persecuted Christian. The whole point of the court ruling was to allow gay folks to marry. Couldn't care less than about your Christian business. The blatant discrimination against people, a hate so palpable you refuse to do business with them, is a separate violation of law as well as a violation of god's command to his followers.
Re: Evangelical Christians demanding special privileges
Yes, exactly my recollection. Memories of the old World at War documentaries I used to devour as a teen.
I have the vivid flashbacks of the old films showing the Pope going from here to somewhere in all his pageantry while the voice over was not a happy camper about the Pope’s accommodations towards the Nazis (as another voice over intoned) was a force that could have crushed him like bug anytime it wanted. So where was god? My come away emotion from that experience helped fortify my atheist views.
Tying the Vatican to the Nazis, especially as the Nazis had lost and were looking for escape, fits my moral indignation needs.
Gods church on earth playing wink-wink with the Nazis is an outrage of the most basic human values and gives me a great deal of reason to flip off at the Vatican, which is something I rather enjoy doing.
