Nothing audacious about that. We don't take leprechauns' opinions of right and wrong seriously, do we? We don't even consider the opinions of things that exist, like cholera bugs. The only "right" and "wrong" ideas that matter to us are our own. Empty claim. Then you should be able to point to the bullet hole. No. Even if there was such a thing as "internal discernment", it should definitely NOT be used to subvert evidence.

Maybe you should distinguish between the debate and the actual issue. Debates may have "winners" and "losers" but real issues aren't always so black-and-white. Creationists, apologists and other charlatans love a debate because they can over-simplify their talking points for an audience that already agrees with them. A believer with an audience of believers could read the phone book and "win" the debate.

The moral high ground would be the fact that I try to be honest about what I know and don't know - i.e. I don't pretend to get my information from communion with some spook. You haven't been anywhere else either, so why would your conclusions be more mature than mine? You have used the same method to reach the conclusion that there are no leprechauns. If I claimed to be in communion with a leprechaun, wouldn't you think I was pretending? Show evidence that the spook exists and we might be able to take the pretense seriously. That's not the point. It isn't a "choice" between godless "reality" or the godly life at all. Even if there is such a thing as the "godly life", he has chosen reality to talk about it. So do all of you believers. Without reality, your "godly life" is strictly internal.

As long as you keep "ultimate or sacred meaning" in there, it's just the same old religious mumbo-jumbo.

You certainly can. You and Dredge, et al. are the ones who take a verse out of context and try to make it a whole doctrine. You have to look at the context.

Call it "nonsense" if you like but Jesus said it, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 7:22) Which is why much of Christianity is a false religion. It is doing the will of the Father in heaven, not mouthing "I believe..." at mass.
