Re: Critical thinking/ spiritual discernment.
Shame, I was hoping for more comedy gold like the last post.
Especially as I made an allusion to one of your most egregious failures.
But let’s not forget the others like your insistence that the child of Isaiah 7 could only be Jesus - when the text says that the birth would be a sign of events that occurred in the reign of Ahaz.

You're not going to be controversial by spouting the same pulpit guff as all the other loony evangelics.

Re: Thugzy Unplugged
Well, I AM a believer, after all. You can't expect me to present my worldview under the guise of atheistic secular humanism. What I will do is to compare and contrast various ideologies and belief systems while not waffling on my own beliefs. Many of our conversations at EvC will be brought to life through some of my video commentaries. You have always claimed that I am delusional, but quite frankly the jury is still out as to which of us is actually deluded. No disrespect intended, Tangle. I know that you are of sound mind and are logical and rational.
Admittedly my beliefs are not logical in the context of modern psychological and sociological thought. But alas....I won't give them up for that reason.

Dr.Timothy Keller & Apologeticss
Comments are welcome. I know that ringo and jar despise all apologists, but these days I am unafraid to explore the opinions and beliefs of others though I will say that Im not going to treat all beliefs the same since I have already been persuaded by the Christian World View---thus to be fair, I am biased.

We must realize that the Reformation world view leads in the direction of government freedom. But the humanist world view with inevitable certainty leads in the direction of statism. This is so because humanists, having no god, must put something at the center, and it is inevitably society, government, or the state.- Francis A. Schaeffer

On the way to the mall
I was on the way to the mall with Vidal to help him get his cap. God has been very good to us and we expect to become known to a wider and wider audience as time commences.

Should We Actively Deconvert People On The Brink?
Bart Campolo had a followup episode on his podcast where he furthered the discussion about whether questioning Christians should be actively deconverted.
Listen to "516: Should we deconvert people on the brink? with Leah Helbling" on Spreaker.

Leah Helbling is a close friend of Humanize Me and a member of the team at the humanist community Cincinnati Caravan with Bart Campolo.
In this episode, the two chat about Leah's instinct to attempt to 'deconvert' those who are questioning their faith, and Bart's belief that many people are better off staying where they are. The friendly disagreement started when Bart answered a question in Episode 504 from a listener called Craig who found himself in that position. (Craig was me. AKA Phat.)
Along the way, the conversation addresses some of the harm done by religion, Leah's sense of shame in her past as an evangelical woman, the kinds of Christianity available and how different they are from each other, how the length of time since deconversion can affect one's approach, the merits or otherwise of 'accommodating' Christianity, the idea that there is one best way to live or to be, to meddle or not to meddle, the difference between meddling and listening, and in what circumstances someone can know what's in somebody else's best interests.
This topic was started back when I first started my Thugpreacha Facebook Page which I am still actively pursuing. I have a lot to say when I am talking with someone face to face, but find it far more difficult to "preach" or speak to a camera on my computer in an otherwise empty room with only my parakeet and Jesus.

Bart Campolo Update 2/1/2023
Deleted Post.

The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of a doubt, what is laid before him.” - Leo Tolstoy, The Kingdom of God is Within You (1894).
