But that's a definition of God, the uncreated, the uncaused cause. Or as scripture puts it, I AM that I AM. You can't just call it fiction, that's absurd.
Of course you can call it fiction. A definition doesn't make something real. We have definitions of leprechauns, unicorns, etc., all of which you call fiction.

But there's confusion about what God is, expressed at EvC very recently, so if we can't even give the traditional definition of God that will never get straightened out.

Whether your definition of God is "traditional" or not has no bearing on whether or not he's fiction.

What it has bearing on is the abusive attitude toward tradition, but I guess EvC is beyond caring about such things.

It isn't an "abusive" attitude. It's a realistic attitude. Traditions can be fiction. In fact, people like you who insist on the literal truth of your traditions often miss out on the real value of those traditions.

It's an abusive attitude, aimed against an ancient tradition that used to be treated with respect even by Krazy atheists. No longer.

You're the one who disrespects tradition by treating obvious fiction (hint: talking snake) as if it was yesterday's newspaper. Instead of learning something from it, you use it to line bird cages.

Respect is earned, not simply given because something has existed for a certain amount of time. Segregation was a tradition in the South, but that didn't make it worth respecting. "We've always done it this way" is not a valid argument for something being respectable or true.

Yeah well apparently it was considered to have been earned for two thousand years but today's barbarians have changed their mind. So what else is new. You do a fine job of defending the barbarians. Good for you.

Calling it fiction is not abusive. Now if I had said it is a bunch of fucking bullshit and anyone who believes it should be locked up, that would be abusive, but I didn't say that. I said it's fiction.

The "no longer" is because you can't burn us at the stake anymore.

Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.
