So you don't believe humans descended from bacteria via a process of Darwinian evolution? If not, what do you believe is responsible for the history of life on earth?
it is not a belief system

Okay, and one of those “natural processes” would be millions of years of creatures competing for survival against other creatures. So there is no difference between non-human animals competing for resources and humans competing for resources, since humans are just one more product of evolution. Dredge writes: natural processes what do you believe is responsible for the history of life on earth? If, for example, China invaded Saudi Arabia, killed all the inhabitants and took control of the oil fields there, according to your accepted explanation for the history of life on earth, surely that would be an example of animals competing against each other for survival? So what you call “genocide” is simply one of the “natural processes” that has shaped the history of life on earth.

Classical atheist fantasy.
Extraordinarily complex results can come from quite simple basic stuff. No, "complexity implies intelligence" is not an idea worthy of any merit.
Spoken like a true atheist. You would sooner have your arm broken than admit design in nature. "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man”and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things." So your personal incredulity is your argument against the existence of a Creator? Even the village idiot knows life cannot come naturally from inanimate matter.
So your personal incredulity is your argument against the weight of evidence?

Next you'll be claiming that dumb molecules built the nuclear fusion reactor that is our sun and that dumb molecules built the first life-form! I've given examples of how extraordinarily complex results can come from quite simple basic stuff. Do you think those examples are fantasies?Wait! It gets better - dumb molecules produced a human being!! No kidding? Any idea involving God looks foolish to an atheist. God of the gaps has been used to death over the centuries and always ends up looking foolish. God-of-the-gaps is obviously not a scientific theory, but for some odd reason, you access it according to the rules of science. That's a bad argument. Edited by Dredge, : No reason given. Perhaps science will one day explain that mysterious voice that saved my life and that vision of the future I had . as well as countless other miracles that have been reported. But I don' think so. Science can only scratch the surface of reality.
Beyond the purview? Who knows? Perhaps some day there will be a scientific explanation for such things as why there are three spatial dimensions, why mass and inertia are so closely linked, why there is an imbalance between matter and anti-matter in the universe . . .

Yep, that's the usual reply, so for that reason I couldn't be bothered providing the details to closed minds that deny certain aspects of reality (ie, atheists). Oooo a mysterious voice and a vision. No, science can't touch anything in that area, so you know their reaction will be simply to impute it to some kind of insanity. Edited by Dredge, : No reason given.

Science can explain a vision that describes a future event in fine detail? Are you sure? Ditto for the voice that saved my life. BCRPS is a recognized scientific disposition that can explain auditory/visual hallucinations in these cases precisely. You don't know what you're talking about or what you're dealing with. When it comes to miracles, people like you are like blind, clueless children stumbling around in the dark.

Such things can happen even to atheists. My sister-in-law is a case in point - she immigrated from China and was raised by staunchly Communist parents. She ridiculed Christianity as "ridiculous nonsense". About 12 years after marrying my (agnostic) brother, completely out the blue, according to her, "Jesus started talking to me". She literally heard him talking to her! She instantly become a very devout Christian.
Just for the sake of having some context for your comments, would you tell us if you've ever had a similar kind of experience, a vision or a voice or the ilke?

First, build a machine which performs many, complex, interdependent functions. Then, add to that machine the ability to self-replicate . if you can, so good luck with that! After you’ve completed that monumental, probably impossible task, somehow convince yourself that dumb molecules plus blind chance could have produced that machine. After that, check yourself into the nearest psychiatric hospital, because you have obviously become insane. Edited by Dredge, : No reason given.

This is a very poor argument. We know nothing at all about the properties of God - as opposed to matter, which we can observed, measured and described by physical laws. So to try and compare the two is rather pointless, I’d say ... a bit like comparing “dark matter” to a bicycle. Furthermore, what we know of matter is that it has no life, mind, teleological properties or creative powers. You, yourself, believe a highly complex intelligence can develop without being built by some intelligent agency. That is, you believe that your god exists. If you believe that, you cannot claim it is impossible for our material universe (a thing far less intricate than your god) to develop without being built by some intelligent agency. Can you name a machine (biological or non-biological) that has been observed to build itself? Edited by Dredge, : No reason given.
