Don't you get *** and want to strangle people sometimes when they *** about you and misrepresent your views and call you a troll and a ***** and whatnot? I'd be surprised if you don't. Everybody does, I was just honest about it. I really can't remember anyone else on the forum EVER wish harm on another member, let alone fantasize about murdering them. Except you. It really isn't normal, Faith.
The Buddhist teacher I've been listening to says she's glad she never had children because she's probably have killed them all since she's always been an angry type of person. She's not normal either, FYI. As angry as I have been at a variety of other humans in my life, I have not once, not ever wished physical harm on them, let alone threaten them with death. If she had kids she probably would have killed them? WTF Faith? She's not somebody you should probably listen to, although with your violent fantasies, you are two of a kind and probably get along famously..."...heck is a small price to pay for the truth"

Neither do we. You are taking a literary point literally.

I wish I could sketch it out for you but I no longer have the means to do that.
That is no reason to ignore rocks that are present in an area.
All I meant about the granite, which IS one of the basement rocks, which word I ***** I used for it somewhere, is that it does not form a ***** in the strata as the sedimentary rocks do. This is why I said it's not part of the geological column but if you want to include it because it's usually the basement of the geo column, OK with me.
If you understood geology, you would see that what you describe is a stratigraphic column, showing only the sedimentary rocks ina given area.
But I read Percy as treating it as a ***** in the column and not as a volcanic basement rock. That's the only reason it came up.
I never read that into Percy's posts. But even here, you show your lack of depth. First of all, volcanic rocks can form layers and hence, strata. Second, not all basement rocks are volcanic. A huge percentage of them metasedimentary as well as metavolcanic and intrusive igneous. I am limiting this post here for lack of interest. There is no way to give you the background necessary to understand the situation. For instance, we have not even gotten into the Caledonian Orogeny that occurred while the sedimentary package was being deposited. There is simply too much ignorance and denial in your posts.

Neither do we. You are taking a ******** point *********. I have no idea what that means, but it's probably off topic, as was my original post to you here, so it may be best to let it go. It never ceases to amaze me the sheer quantity of times you defend violence against innocent men, women, children, babies; even the Old Testament unborn. You must remember me bringing this up before! And you even seem to fantasize about murdering others yourself. I don't think you are normal. Sorry for interrupting the thread. "...heck is a small price to pay for the truth"

Earthquakes mostly.
What other explanation for the distortions in the underwater strata do you propose? Water saturation would cause expansion and contraction here and there. The strata are laid down flat. Steno said so and it makes sense. If they are now thick and thin here and there something had to distort them while they were still wet. Being beneath sea level would seem to be the explanation. HOW I can intuit but it's hard to explain. I suspect you can intuit it too.

Oh for heaven's sake, what ARE you talking about? Biblical punishment which is something that's come up now and then? Good grief that's not me, that's God's righteous judgment which we should take to heart. It makes me shudder too. As for my own apparently ill-considered statement, you really think it's not a common thing for people to say "I could just STRANGLE so and so?" If you take such things literally for lack of experience you must have lived a very insulated life.

Faith writes: As I recall, and I'm trying to do something else right now so it's hard to stay focused on this, but didn't he say after how there are so many disagreements that some of them actually reinterpret the Bible on the basis of what science has to say? That is totally bogus. It's all got to come FROM the Bible. Once again you're stating your belief that science is wrong where it differs from views drawn from the Bible. This again gives the lie to your claim that your views are independent of the Bible. If you want people to believe you're doing science you have to: a) Stop talking about the Bible; and b) Stop making ignorant and impossible scientific claims. --Percy

In other words stop being a YEC.
I was clear exactly when and where I make observations of phenomena that are not dictated by the Bible.

Faith writes: It's also true that I put the Bible aside when I think about the physical and biological facts, such as the geological column. You have to seriously stop making self-evidently false claims about yourself. The topic is the Flood. Start talking about that instead. --Percy

quote: I would propose that the whole idea is nuts and we should accept the sensible view of long periods of time including tectonic events and large amounts of erosion. But that’s because I don’t subscribe to Biblical literalism (which is the only reason you make these things up)
quote: Which is why deposition on tilted or unevenly eroded surfaces will result in changes in thickness.
quote: Not necessarily at all. Even if it is distortion - and it doesn’t have to be - we know that it can happen to rock.
quote: I can’t and I don’t believe you can either. The fact that you haven’t answered edge’s question supports that.

That's what I'm saying to you. You claimed in Message 386, "my view is biblical". It isn't. It's made up. Nothing at all is said about that, either pro or con, so anything you happen to ***** about it is just your own ********.All that are in Hell, choose it. -- CS Lewis That's just egregiously stupid. -- ringo

It sounds nuts (it IS nuts) but it follows from Faith’s claims.
Faith asserts that the order of the fossil record is due to the Flood sorting the fossils. However, trace fossils - notably tracks - are part of the fossil record and fit that order. Dinosaur tracks are found in the strata that mainstream geology assigns to the age of the dinosaurs. But tracks can’t be separated from the strata. They are a feature of it. The only way to sort the tracks is to sort the strata. And that does not make sense.

You haven't made any observations. You've posted lots of ridiculous physically impossible opinions. Being a YEC is incompatible with reality. Pick one.

Unfortunately it is actually pretty common. I have been told by "Christians" here that I should be taken out and shot, that if they could reach me they would throttle me and several other similar truly stupid comments.
