Trump Claims Article 2 Gives Him ‘The Right To Do Whatever I Want As President’
quote:
I have an Article 2 where I have the right to do whatever I want as president, Trump said. But I don’t even talk about that because they did a report and there was no obstruction.
Nothing about Article 2 says the President can legally do whatever they want, let alone fire an independent counsel at will, but it’s not the first time Trump’s made such dubious claims.
During an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos last month, Trump cited Article 2 as the reason why presidents can’t be charged with obstruction of justice.
Raise your hand if you think he has a clue about the content of Article 2. Beuller? Beuller?
Now, who thinks it's dangerous for the President to believe there are no limits on his power?

Mueller testimony
Oh, rats.
quote:
Now before we go to questions I want to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu who said, and I quote, ‘you didn’t charge the President because of the OLC opinion.’ That is not the correct way to say it. As we say in the report, and as I said at the opening, we did not reach a determination as to whether the President committed a crime, Mueller clarified.

Outright lies
Mueller: Trump Officials' 'Outright Lies' Impeded Investigation
quote:
Rep. Demings said, "So let's talk about lies. According to your report, page nine, volume one, witnesses lied to your office and to congress. those lies materially impaired the investigation of Russian interference, according to your report. Other than the individuals who pled guilty to crimes based on their lying to you and your team, did other witnesses lie to you?"
Mueller replied, "I think there are probably a spectrum of witnesses in terms of those who are not telling the full truth, and those are outright liars."
Outright liars, indeed.
"Thank you very much, she said. "Outright liars. It is fair to say then that there were limits on what evidence was available to your investigation of both Russia election interference and obstruction of justice."
"That's true and usually the case," he replied.
She continued, "And that lies about Trump campaign officials and administration officials impeded your investigation?"
"I would generally agree to that," Mueller said.
Outright liars. Whoda thunk?

Clintons again
Clintons Murdered Jeffrey Epstein, But He Got Better
quote:
So far, we haven't seen any brilliant explanations of why the plot failed in this instance, since the Clintons are usually so unfailingly lethal. (You know, Roger Stone knows they killed JFK Jr., for "reasons," except the joke is on them since John John actually faked his death and will soon reveal himself as "Q.") We doubt any of the true believers will be bothered by that insignificant detail, though, because you know how it is with the Clintons, who work in such mysterious ways that they leave no evidence at all.

Re: Global Conspiracy from Both Sides
It's kinda like the telephone game, except with lies. One lies a little, the next one copies and adds a little. None of them do any checking. Most of them don't retract when the truth comes out. And most of them ricochet around in the bubble forever.
And I wouldn't assume he knows how ludicrous and foolish that kind of BS is. I've encountered several RWNJs who regurgitate that crap without the slightest thought of reality. The bubble is nearly impermeable.
There's a word for that but I can't find it.
ABE I expect versions of this to echo for some time. How Marco Rubio ended up broadcasting a lie about Ilhan Omar.

The legal issue was their refusal to fill out a form declaring their opposition, which would then have required the health insurance company to supply the employees with the required supplies.

EPA Inspector General wants to know how something like this was OK’d
quote:
Stepp’s chief of staff, Kurt Thiede, who previously worked for her in Wisconsin, was asked in the Minnesota review to stall submitting written comments from the EPA on the proposed mine until after the period for submitting public comments had ended. That move in effect made those comments secret until environmental groups sued.
...
Kevin Pierard, a senior official in the EPA’s Chicago office, told Minnesota regulators that the proposed permit didn’t have numeric limits on how much pollution could be in discharges from the mine. He also said the discharges would exceed federal health and aquatic life standards for mercury, copper, arsenic, cadmium and zinc.
Pierard’s comments were read over the phone to Minnesota regulators so they wouldn’t appear in the official record, a move former EPA attorney Jeffry Fowley said was seriously improper conduct. Fowley said the permit is an end-run around the requirements of the Clean Water Act.

Nazis go gaga for Trump's racism
White Supremacists, Extremists Celebrate President Trump’s Latest Racist Tweets
quote:
Andrew Anglin again praised the President, writing on the Daily Stormer the day after the rally: Telling those women to go back to their countries is by far the most racist thing he’s ever said — especially since one of them was a black American, descended from slaves. And by refusing to apologize, he has effectively normalized the opinion among the masses of goyim that you can believe that America is a white country, for white people — and that brown people are our guests and if they don’t like being guests then they have to go home.
...
Neo-Nazi Andrew Anglin was apparently thrilled by the tweets, posting on his popular Daily Stormer website: Man, President Trump’s Twitter account has been pure fire lately. This might be the funniest thing he’s ever tweeted. This is the kind of WHITE NATIONALISM we elected him for. And we’re obviously seeing it only because there’s another election coming up. But I’ll tell you, even knowing that, it still feels so good.
Anglin also emphasized the political implications of Mr. Trump telling people of color to go back to their countries: This is what elected Trump and this is what will always be the best way for him to gain support, and underscored the importance of these comments being directed at U.S. citizens, particularly Rep. Pressley, who was born in Cincinnati: So this is not some half-assed anti-immigrant white nationalism. Trump is literally telling American blacks to go back to Africa.

INTELLIGENCE REFORM AND TERRORISM PREVENTION ACT OF 2004
quote:
``Sec. 102. <> (a) Director of National Intelligence.--(1) There is a Director of National Intelligence who shall be appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate. Any individual nominated for appointment as Director of National Intelligence shall have extensive national security expertise.
Who cares, it's only a law. Laws don't apply to Republicans.
