Did the Flood really happen?

So now you have a worldwide flood that was violent enough to destroy all traces of civilization before the flood, and at the same time gentle enough not to damage coral.

If it destroyed "everything in its path", why didn't it destroy the coral too?

So all of the civilizations were magically in its path and all of the coral was magically out of its path. Curiouser and curiouser. More and more magical. Less and less sensible.

And hundreds of ordinary flloods year after year provide huge quantities of water.

You don't know that. It's an empty opinion based on a profound ignorance of what standard Geology does know.

I don't think anybody but you has noticed that the world is round. You should mention it to them.

Hint: lots of little floods, often once per year, just like we see in reality.

That line is just a line. It doesn't exist in reality. The strata are continuous above sea level and below sea level. There is nothing "broken off".

No, nothing is "broken off". The waterline is irrelevant. They're just continuous strata.

Huh? The cross-section is exactly what we're talking about - the continuous strata shown in the cross-section. Just pretend the sea level line isn't there. It doesn't add anything to understanding the strata.

Then why are you bringing up a different diagram? The point is that there is nothing "broken off".

I think I understand the diagram. (I haven't been corrected by the smart people yet anyway.) What I don't understand is why you think something has been "broken off". It doesn't matter where the water line is. The strata are continuous.

They're still long lengths of strata, as I have said. The rest of their length is below sea level but it's still there, continuous.

Well, one end is off the diagram on the right-hand side, so we can't say anything about that end based on the diagram. The ends of the individual strata that are now on the surface will definitely erode, like everything on the surface does. But there's no indication of anything "broken off".
