One important characteristic of a theory is that is has survived repeated attempts to falsify it. Contrary to your understanding, all available evidence confirms it. --Subbie

Re: Please name this fallacy
I'd call it the Y2K fallacy.

The reason that we have the scientific method is because common sense isn't reliable. -- Taq

Re: Please name this fallacy
We have another impending disaster looming, we have had plenty of warning for at least 2 decades, the effects will be catastrophic for the planet, it will destroy our civilization, and this time we will not act decisively to avert a disaster we are causing.
This is the climate denial fallacy.

Re: Need Smartphone Recommendation
My 1st smart phone was a Samsung Note 2. I loved having a stylus and quickly felt lost when I misplaced it, briefly. Now I'm using a Note 8 and I like it also. I have a suite of apps that are useful in all the interests I have. Weather Bug is a great weather app and it includes a lightning detector that shows real time lightning strikes overlaid on a satellite map, really useful for storm photography. I listen to lots of audiobooks and music and have nice apps for that. Plus I can send audio including phone calls to my hearing aids via bluetooth. Both times when I needed the phones Verizon was running specials and they didn't cost anything and I didn't have to sign a time specified contract. I also get strong signal when a lot of my friends on ATT have none.

Re: Files from Phone
I transfer files on my Samsung Notes the same way, but I can also download them from attachments on emails or texts. 64GB memory on the micro SD card has been plenty so far, plus backed up to my laptop.

Re: Need Smartphone Recommendation
I have not seen any displays on cameras or phones that are easier to see in direct sunlight, but my notes have seemed ok.

Re: Need Smartphone Recommendation
Mine are Bernafon and they do have a small device that hangs around my neck that facilitates communication with my phone. I only turn it on when I get a call or want to listen to music or something. My hearing aids were $2400 at Costco. They have improved my life immensely.
There are still quite a few places where there is no cell coverage. We came over the Cascades on a really old highway this week and there was no signal all day...we stopped to shoot photos a lot.
