All I know is that the Bible clearly says that all have sinned and that none are righteous. It makes no references to right vs left except in the Sheep & Goats Judgement. Evidently behavior of the individual counts more than political ideology.

I'm all in favor of free speech. As I create my new social media account, Thugpreacha I will be controversial---to the point that I will get flak from Christians, Muslims, Secular Humanists, and P.C. Not to defend "them" anymore than necessary...we all will be judged whether we believe or not. But I might point out that I would rather believe that we humans have a destiny beyond this life than to simply accept that we are worm food and our best efforts should be this tiny sliver of life we have now.
Humans may well be arrogant in their presumption of an ancient mythos being true, but to me it is equally arrogant to factually sit on a dust speck of a planet (the only place we have ever known) and using math and measurable instruments postulate and essentially create a universe and a possible multiverse from our limited pea brains and our limited geographical vantage point. Yes, I did. The focus is not simply on Donald Trump and his perception by the populist masses who feel marginalized in an increasingly globalist and inclusivist world. The focus should be on the populist masses themselves. (Yes, Faith that includes you and me)
Do you recall some of our early conversations here at EvC about the aberration? The ramped up industrial capacity of the United States after WWII? Britain too benefitted from the power of the United States..and in one sense we as a nation were "great" in a raw power sense. Many populists equate morality and family values of the early 20th century with worship and reverence for God and His laws, but I think this is missing the point. It may well be true that America was "great" but we as a people have never been any Holier or nobler than any other people on this planet---even though we knew Jesus and many of them did not.
What people yearn for nostalgically and what they feel Donald Trump can do for them is to restore power and dignity to America. The problem with this approach is that gaining back that power comes with a tragic cost. The loss of respect and reverence that the rest of the world has for us---as individual people and collectively as a nation.

Well, I did check Jarrett's credentials. He is conservative, of course, but has most definitely had experience in law.

I tend to trust the NY Times and other media sources, though I do listen to the conservatives also. I am not convinced that Liberals are evil any more than Conservatives, but I do see evil in both partisans. I also realize that there is good in the world, despite Tangle seeing me as miserable and wanting out. What he doesn't understand is that I'm just bummed at getting old.
