That's the report. Our information will improve in the next few days.
Apparently Barr is livid. He should be.

no video. camera is trained outside cell. there are two things. if he was on suicide watch, it would have been humanly impossible to commit suicide, in strait jacket with paper sheets and no way to hang from anything, steel frame bed but no way to move it. if he was taken off suicide watch, why? and no checks. inmates and COs alike, also high ranking police officers, are being quoted as saying it would be impossible for him to commit suicide.

He goes downhill every day.
Trump makes bizarre statement about Japanese wheat imports that leaves CNN fact checker baffled
quote:
I told [Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo] Abe, great guy, I said, ‘Listen, we have a massive deficit with Japan,' he said. They send us thousands and thousands millions! of cars, we send them wheat. Wheat! That’s not a good deal. And they don’t even want our wheat, they do it to make us feel that we’re okay, you know, they do it to make us feel good.
The U.S. trade deficit with Japan was $56.8 billion in 2018, as the United States exported $120.4 billion worth of goods and services to Japan, while importing $177.1 billion.
Contrary to the president’s claims, however, the Office of the United States Trade Representative says that top exports to Japan in 2018 included mineral fuels ($8.8 billion), machinery ($8.2 billion), optical and medical instruments ($7.5 billion), aircraft ($6.5 billion), and electrical machinery ($4.8 billion).

I believe he was suicided. Papers say the FBI have descended upon his Island.
What like almost a month after he was charged? It has been wiped clean.
"They" who ever they are will have some lower level folks take the rap and the whole thing will fade into the ciaos that is our news cycle. Yes another conspiracy theorist.

And they don’t even want our wheat....
This doesn't even make sense. Japan is a capitalist country. It would be private businesses buying that wheat. Businesses that need to make a profit. They wouldn't be buying stuff that they couldn't sell at a profit.

It says something about the qualities of our current president that the best argument anyone has made in his defense is that he didn't know what he was talking about. -- Paul Krugman

They would if they want to make us feel good, because, hey, Donald Trump is just that good.
They want to make us feel that we’re okay because they love them some Donald Trump.
So, they need to buy less wheat, which is less cool than the cars we buy from them, and they need to buy more MAGA ball caps.

Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

Trump's Idea to Buy Greenland is Brilliant
Trump's possible purchase of Greenland from Denmark is brilliant. It seems a safe bet that global warming will make this a very different planet by 2100, and increasingly different after that, so the US needs more living space, or in the words of an illustrious German, lebensraum.
Greenland is shedding its glaciers at a breakneck pace and faster every year. Even at the ever accelerating rates it will likely take the Greenland ice a couple centuries to completely disappear, but when they're gone sea levels will have risen about 20 feet. Almost all coastal cities in the world will disappear under the waves. San Francisco with its hills would become a series of islands.
But Greenland not only has a fair elevation above sea level, isostatic rebound would probably cause its elevation to increase rapidly. This would slow greatly in later years, but the initial rebound rate would be immense. Greenland will definitely remain way above sea level.
At least 90% of Greenland is unsettled and cold, but with the glaciers and ice retreating more and more of Greenland would become open to productive settlement. Kansas will become a desert and Greenland will become breadbasket to the world. Denmark will become a world power.
So buying Greenland so that US citizens displaced by global warming (due to sea level rise and to parts of the country becoming desert) have somewhere to go, and so that the US can maintain world dominance, would be a brilliant move. Denmark will not give up Greenland willingly, we've tried to acquire it before, so we'll have to take it by force. We could call it a kind of imminent domain. Most of Europe would support Denmark, and things would get kind of messy for a while, but in the end we would have expanded the area of the United States by 20% and guarantee ourselves world dominance for a couple hundred more years.
Antarctica is the next big step. International treaty makes Antarctica open to the world, but Trump likes breaking treaties, so he should just claim Antarctica now. Who's going to stop him?

That's actually not a half bad idea. I doubt Denmark is gonna take the deal. Denmark is the one Scandinavian country that is almost entirely at sea level. They might too see it as a piece of real estate with huge potential.
Antarctica is the next big step. International treaty makes Antarctica open to the world, but Trump likes breaking treaties, so he should just claim Antarctica now. Who's going to stop him?
The Antarctic treaty is the opposite though, stipulating that no one may militarize the continent and can only use it for scientific research. This isn't to say that some nation won't break that treaty. But I imagine there would be huge backlash to any nation that diid.

Re: Trump's Idea to Buy Greenland is Brilliant
The interesting thing is that Greenland is becoming valuable because of global warming - which Trump denies. It’s easy to see this as an admission that he knows that global warming is real.

Workers forced to attend a political rally
Looks like some workers are being coerced into attending donnie's speeches.
Welcome to the USA.
quote:
The choice for thousands of union workers at Royal Dutch Shell’s petrochemical plant in Beaver County was to either spend Tuesday standing in a giant hall waiting for President Donald Trump to speak, or to take the day off with no pay.
Your attendance is not mandatory, read the rules that Shell sent to union leaders a day ahead of the visit to the $6 billion construction site. But only those that showed up at 7 a.m., scanned their cards, and prepared to stand for hours through lunch but without lunch would be paid.
NO SCAN, NO PAY, the rules said.

That's definitely reasonable. If true, there was some serious fucking up going on in that prison and maybe higher up. There's a report the guards skipped checking him during the night.
For the guards sake, they better hope not. Missing counts is an extremely serious offense, as it can constitute gross negligence and willful misconduct.
I don't think the official report has deliberated but I'm assuming he was on suicide watch for a week or two. He waited it out since you can't legally be on suicide watch indefinitely and then tried again. Depending on the inmate, jailers are required by law to either have 15 min, 30 min, or 1 hour head counts. If it can be proven that the jailer failed to his counts and somebody dies, you could be looking at a felony. I'm sure his interval was 15 minutes based upon the high-profile case and that he was a recent suicide risk. Still plenty of time if you're determined and planned ahead.
