Re: Trump and the Trust Issue
What happens if China simply says "Okay, you win. Please cash in my chips (all those government bonds we purchased) and we will padlock all the properties we own in the US and pull out all of our business interests and instead turn to Iran and Pakistan and Turkey and Russia and Brazil and Mexico and Canada and the EU and Indonesia and Africa and Argentina and Latin America as trade partners. No hard feelings and congratulations!"

Re: That explains a lot
I think I may have mentioned "Follow the Money" before. The importance of that continues to grow since financial issues will persist beyond the Presidency and cannot be pardoned.

Re: An Example of What Trump's Wall Means
A link to just a portion of one county to see what would be needed. Remember, this only covers about half of Hidalgo County.
Trumps wall is simply stupid.

Who remembers HR McMasters
Those who have not read McMasters book, Dereliction of Duty should give it a read. It's certainly not spell binding and I think it could have been shortened by over a half but the points he makes are well worth review.
Basically, it is an indictment of those who surround themselves with people who tell them what they want to hear.

The problem is that Trump has one priority and that's his ass.
The problem is that as soon as Trump is no longer President he will be charged with crimes in almost every State, charges that will at a minimum totally bankrupt Trump, his family and the whole Trump organization as well as likely several other very wealth concerns.
Trump needs to stay in the position of US President permanently or go to jail.

The bigger issue
Percy writes:
If it turns out there's nothing there then that's fine, but we can't allow Trump to establish a precedent for the divine right of presidents.
We need to remember that the ONLY thing protecting Trump is his position as President and he has already said he likes the idea of President for Life.
I think the results of a poll that asked "If it seemed Elizabeth Warren were to become President would you support President Trump simply refusing to leave office?"
Remember there are only a very limited number of ways that anyone in possession of the Presidency can be removed.
The Courts could declare his behavior un-Constitutional but the courts have no army or enforcement power.
The House can bring charges of Impeachment but cannot try the case.
The Military can step in and overthrow a sitting President.
And finally the President can be declared incapable of preforming his duties but should the President then certify he was fit it becomes moot.

Remember "I am not a crook!"?
The impeachment charges against Richard Nixon related to lying to Congress and evidence of a cover up; an attempt to obstruct justice. It was not the break-in but rather what happened after the fact.
Who remembers the "Enemies List"?

Wrong question.
Taq writes:
Does he understand why it is a bad thing to solicit another country to interfere in our democratic process?
That is a wrong question. Does he care whether or not it is wrong if it benefits him? Notice I just said "him"; I doubt il Donald would hesitate for even a second if throwing his wife or children to the wolves provided even a momentary or minuscule benefit to il Donald.

Re: The whistleblower's complaint
I'm not very confident of that fact. The only real weight of our Constitution is our tacit agreement to abide by it. History has shown that has been ignored in the past. There was even a war as well as explicit flaunting of the provisions by several Presidents. If we look at world history there are even examples of a Nations Military siding with what they saw as a Leader over whatever was written in the Nation State's Constitution.

Re: More info
Kinda Sorta.
It's certainly ONE of the things currently under examination. But there are also what could be far bigger issue such as it seems there may be documents of conversations between Trump and foreign parties that was withheld from the Muller investigation.

Re: More info
It's even more interesting since it would almost certainly also include Pence and Barr as well as other official and personal individuals.
