Phat writes: In order to avoid a civil war, our leaders will need the wisdom of Solomon. Bullshit. The leaders are irrelevant Phat. It is the Middle Class that actually has the power. It is the Middle Class that will determine if we decide to destroy society or save it. The Middle Class is who gets to vote.

Phat writes: How high of a tax rate would it take to fix the problem? No one knows BUT it will take a lower tax today than tomorrow. And it's not as much a matter of tax rate but rather tax source. For example simply removing the current limit of Social Security Taxes but keeping the rate the same would make a BIG difference.

So the problem is the people.
Got it. They will get the world they want. It really is that simple Phat.

NMP Phat.
God sent Al Gore and Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter and Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders and literally thousands more who interpreted the dreams, read the writing on the wall and told the Pharaoh and the People that the Lean Years are coming. Yet the people decided not to build the granaries, not to preserve the meat, not repair the walls, not to make ready the highways, not to store the oil. The people will get what they wanted. UNLESS, people like you stop considering both sides and simply throw those gods away, cast out the apologists, exercise your vote and inform the ill informed.
A still relevant Farewell

That's a great example of how he lies.
Temperatures are made using a variety or techniques from a variety of locations including scanning from satellites. The man is simply utterly without honor or ethics.

Faith writes: Nevertheless I will fight the recommendations that put the US economy back in the dark ages, and that includes shutting down our oil and coal production, in spite of our actual changes to fix the problem, while ignoring the rest of the world's real contributions to the problem. First, no one has suggested shutting down oil & coal production although it would be wise to price both including their contribution to the carbon footprint. What has been suggested is that we use less and less of both until there is no longer a market for either. Then we need to force the oil and coal companies the mitigate the damage they have done to the environment. But this stupid administration is trying stop all our efforts to reduce the domestic demand for petroleum products. TRUMP == STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Faith writes: I thought oil and gas production was already effectively shut down and you all hate Trump because he revived it. And as usual you are simply wrong. Trump has not revived any industry or added any jobs or provided any support for the middle and lower class.

Yet that is simply another falsehood. The US has been steadily increasing oil and gas production and nothing really changed yet under il Donald. He has proposed opening additional so far protected locations to exploitation but fortunately it has not really been allowed. Remember, it takes longer that even two terms of any President to bring any new oil or gas field into production.
Forget what your sources produce as propaganda and look at the actual facts.

Faith writes: Now, why aren't we all seeking ways of surviving the supposedly inevitable changes you predict? Because folk like you continue to elect Representatives that are anti-science and pro immediate profit. Remember, they will all be rich enough to avoid most of the discomfort over the next half century. When Mar-a-Lago is under water it only means a profitable insurance claim for Trump and loss of homes and income and health insurance and a living for everyone working there or dependent on it.

Faith writes: And if we shut them all down we'll all freeze to death in the winter, have to do without electricity and so on and might as well be dead anyway. Only the fools and the poor will have to do without electricity. The poor are a truth that should shame us. The fools will get what they wanted. The rich will do just fine at least as long as they want.

Phat writes: I believe that the US was maintained through the morals of a largely Christian population who were not overly greedy or materialistic until after WWII, when we fell off the rails. What "morals" are unique to Christianity?

Faith writes: The Founders betrayed those principles, except to the extent that they did like what they considered to be Christian morality, so that's there. There's that old canard again that there is some "Christian" morality. What morality is uniquely "Christian" Faith?

Faith writes: Ask the Founders, it's their idea. Sorry Faith but so far no one has ever offered any evidence to support such a silly position. If there is such a thing as "Christian" morality then there should be some evidence to show it exists. So again, what is "Christian" morality Faith.

Well, the Ten Commandments are certainly NOT Christian and there is nothing uniquely "Christian" related to morality in the Sermon on the Mount.
So again Faith, "What is 'Christian' morality"?
