ps - Also have 1 non-internet connected XP machine that is used to record audio off of the broadcast board. Works fine, but it did require some tweaking of our new file server. Not sure what's going to become of Mr. XP.
As JonF noted "the recommended fate for Mr. XP is in a virtual machine" -- this is what I have done for my XP software that I still use. Once set up it is fairly simple to boot up within Windoze10, and I let it maximize it's window so it is similar to the old XP computer in operation and looks. With a little tweaking I am able to transfer files through a shared folder system between the two operating systems operating at the same time.
I use the Oracle Virtual Box.
At our little low power FM station we have 7 computers running Windows 7. Being that the Windows 7 support is ending at the end of the year, we are doing the changes to Windows 10. 2 down, 5 to go.
When I bought this machine it was windoze 8 with touchscreen. In the second week it automatically updated to windoze 10 at night and disabled the touchscreen, as well as completely disrupting any setup I had in windoze 8. I had to pay a geek to get the touchscreen back.
There are two faces to windoze 8 & 10, by I only use the one similar to the old windoze. I consider the other a completely useless waste of ram.
I've also considered installing ubuntu.
Enjoy
