I see why you did what you did. I love Faith, but I agree with you that she needs to toe the line in certain topics...especially those started by others. The ones she starts she can yak till the cows come home, in my opinion.

In Brief: Capitalism(unbridled and unregulated) seeks to entice and dominate the globe through seduction. The right wing goal of eliminating meddlesome government regulation is both a blessing and a curse as to its success.
Socialism seeks to capture and govern the world through oppression via mandatory consensus and government regulation. ringo can crow about how it is what Jesus would approve of yet fails to take into account our fallen (or flawed) human nature.
I am a political moderate. I see pros and cons in both political ideologies.
Of course my world view is shaped by the belief that we humans need Jesus and a spiritual transformation. Ironically, Trump may actually have been destined to step into power in times such as these. He is arguably delaying the demise of the United States as a major player on the global stage. On the other hand, I never had any reason to dislike Barack Obama...as many of my conservative friends do. If one were to choose which of the two would be a possible antichrist archetype, Obama ironically would fit the bill only because he seems so professional, polished, and nice. (Traits that a cunning antichrist would have) while Trump allowed himself to be used by the capitalists as he in turn exploited the system himself for the benefit of his wealthy friends as well as his families success. But he never seems to mind if we know it. And the populist hillbillies love the guy for his gutsy brashness. All I know is that the economy is likely to fall apart during the next presidential term...expect a 10 year correction at best.

Stop and Think. You have told us that Evangelical Christianity is the greatest threat to world peace. Much of Trumps base is evangelical. They see prosperity and an affluent lifestyle as a God-given right...an inalienable right! They do not trust any foreign interests who compete to take a larger share at our expense. If their money gets taken away or devalued, I know in my heart that they will lobby for a military response in order to secure our interests and prosperity. You may rightly claim that we will fail. To them, we would be failing anyway. A desperate man will do desperate things for survival. The Democrats better have a solution that guarantees affordable health care and retirement to those who worked for it. Otherwise, we will take the world down with us.
Personally, I would not advocate such a solution...but I am wise enough to know that it wont be easily stopped.

Great article on NPR this morning. I have my bag of popcorn and am now sitting back and watching our system of justice do its thing. I am not necessarily out to "get Trump" as so many accuse the political Left of doing. (I consider myself a political moderate) I am interested in uncovering the raw truth--truth unedited, unobstructed, and non-partisan.

Re: Trump and the destruction of the evangelicals.
I never liked Christian nationalism, but if I honestly examine my own values and what I think being a Christian means, I begin to realize that Jesus never cared much for prosperity. He seemed to care more for helping the least of these (people throughout the world) and it seems as if this whole farce with the Evangelicals and Trump has a lot more to do with pushing material prosperity rather than honor and justice (and charity).
I can see why ringo challenges my conscience so often. Perhaps I would be better off being honest and realizing that I embraced Christianity due to the benefits it could have offered me rather than the responsibility I would be charged to provide for others.
All I know is that I am at odds with most of my "Christian" friends and associates. I agree with this article that you posted, and it is a timely and ongoing issue.
