Re: Just when you thought they'd reached the nadir of evil.
Children of American citizens are citizens. Children born to one citizen parent are citizens. They cannot take that away.

quote:
USCIS issued a clarification to the rule later Wednesday, explaining that the new rule would only affect three categories of people: Children of non-U.S. citizens adopted by U.S. citizen government employees or service members; children of non-U.S. citizen government employees or service members who were naturalized after the child's birth; and children of U.S. citizens who do not meet residency requirements.
Not sure exactly what that last one means.

Self-own in studio 4
Fox & Friends Stunned: First Responders Do Not Validate 'War On Cops' Narrative
quote:
Pete Hegseth and Fox News filled their studio with first responders (firemen and police officers) and played a new video of somebody throwing some milk at a police officer.
It's their usual attempt to make believe all policemen and firefighters are being constantly disrespected and no longer want to do their jobs.
Hegseth said, "I can throw some milk or throw water at a cop and get away with it. I'm laughing about and I'm going to film it..."
Hegseth portrayed every first responder as being under siege by the citizens they are sworn to protect.
"They don't feel like they can crack down the way they need to create an environment where a new normal is created," Hegseth said.
...
Hegseth continued, "It resonates so much with people, because you see another side of the aisle, an entire party saying, "we're the party of illegality, we're the party of non-citizenship." And [Trump] says, "no, last time I checked, America still matters."
Co-host Steve Doocy then asked the audience to weigh in on this supposedly unbearable situation, "All right. Can we see the hands of the people here today, the first responders in law enforcement, who have encountered anything like that in the last year or so in New York, or wherever you are?
No hands were raised. Silence ensued. The Trump sponsored propaganda team all received a shock to the system when none of those in their first responder's audience raised their hands when they were asked if they had ever been disrespected by the public. Yikes.
When no hands were raised, Doocy walked out to the audience to bail them out as Ainsley then said, "Or know anyone that has?"
When nobody responded Doocy said, "Well, that's good."

Re: Kids in cages goes back to Obama
There were some times when children were put in cages during the Obama administration.
There are gigantic differences in nature and degree.
The Trump administration has deliberately taken the treatment of those children to depths heretofore unimaginable. They have acknowledged the cruelty is the point; they'll do anything up to and including deliberate killing of sick children to deter more migrants. The list of tortures is sickening. Now there are accusations that women and girls can't have tampons or pads. Their clothes get to catch the blood. Is that true? I don't know. But I do know that they are capable of doing that. That's one of our great losses, the knowledge that America is not a beacon of freedom and morality, it's not a shining city on the hill.
Of course your dogma trumps reality every time and you'll stay in your right-wing bubble o' lies. You love what they are doing.

Re: Kids in cages goes back to Obama
What happened in Obama's day is nothing compared to what Trump came up with.
But you're in favor of any atrocity as long as it's committed by a Republican.
It's no smear campaign, it's calling attention to the truth that even right-wing sites acknowledge and the Inspector General of the Department of Homeland Security acknowledged as barbarism.
I note that you won't even condemn making women b led without any sanitary products when they have their period. I guess you never used any, amirite? But after you've endorsed killing legal and sick children, anything goes.

These Pictures Show The "Dangerous" Overcrowding At Border Patrol Facilities
quote:
The Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General on Tuesday released its final report on overcrowding at several border facilities in the Rio Grande Valley ” nearly a week after BuzzFeed News reported on a draft version ” revealing shocking photographs of people crammed into small detention spaces.
Inspectors detailed how, when they visited several the facilities earlier this month, they found adults and minors with no access to showers. Many adults were only fed bologna sandwiches, and detainees were seen banging on cell windows ” pressing notes to the windows that detailed their time in custody.
Inspectors described the conditions as "dangerous" and "prolonged." Some adults were held in standing-room-only conditions for a week. There was little access to hot showers or hot food for families and children in some facilities

quote:
{Acting DHS Secretary} McAleenan had attempted to downplay conditions at the administration’s detention camps after shocking reports on the conditions ” even as he knew his own department’s Inspector General had prepared a report confirming the news story.
“I mean, the Homeland security secretary has been proven wrong now by his own agency. Right?” Maddow wondered.
“He went to Congress and said these allegations about bad conditions in his facilities, these were just unsubstantiated allegations that were creating a sensation. That was a handful of days ago,” she explained.
Now his own agency has published these photos and this urgent management alert calling exactly the same alarm. Right? Saying exactly the same thing which he was dismissing as unsubstantiated just days ago,” she continued.
Standing room only in a cell:

Caused mostly by the administration's zero humanity policy.

Re: Kids in cages goes back to Obama
Do you read any news? Such as the ultra-right-wing Breitbart.com ?
quote:
The federal government is reversing course and will allow a group of roughly 1,000 sick illegal migrants to keep getting U.S. medical treatment.
The reversal is a partial win for Joe Biden, who has begun claiming President Donald Trump’s deputies are trying to cruelly unplug sick children.
The reversal came Monday via an announcement by the citizenship agency, which said it would restart processing requests for deferred action.
The requests are made by illegals seeking to defer their legal deportation so that they or their children can keep getting medical treatment....
The statement suggests that the USCIS will not accept future requests from illegals to stay in the United States for medical treatment. Also, a plan to transfer the deferred action requests to the ICE enforcement agency appears to have been dropped.

Re: Kids in cages goes back to Obama
Obama's "cages" were chain link fences.
All you hear is the Trump bashing and you believe none of it. So you don't listen to or read any news at all, right-wing or left-wing or center. I believe you, your self-enforced ignorance of any of the actual events is obvious.

Re: Kids in cages goes back to Obama
The report you found does not say the INSPECTOR GENERAL OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY is lying about the provenance of those photos and what they saw. Nor does it say the many congrespersons and respected members of the community who visited the concentration camps and posted their photos and experiences were lying.
I acknowledged that a few kids were put in cages under Obama. They were treated humanely otherwise, and there's nothing more in common with Trump’s barbarism gone wild.
I challenge you to name three specific things this administration has acknowledged doing, that many people think is inhumane, and was also done under Obama. The cages themselves aren't one of those, we know Obama did that and we know it was wrong.
You won't even name one. Because you have no clue what's happening in the country today.

The Russians are ecstatic
Russia Loves the Impeachment Hearings Because GOP Is Parroting Kremlin Propaganda
quote:
The Kremlin is eager to help Trump, in fact, because his presidency has proven to be exceedingly beneficial for the Kremlinhaving brought chaos into American politics, undermined trust in democratic institutions, weakened transatlantic alliances, delivered Syria into the hands of Putin, Syria's Bashar al-Assad and Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan, thereby elevating the international image of Russia as a global force to be reckoned with.
The ongoing impeachment inquiry is a twofold gift for the Kremlin. On the one hand, President Trump and the Republican Party are doing Putin’s work by assailing U.S. intelligence agencies, career diplomats and institutions. On the other hand, the impeachment inquiry revealed an unprecedented rift between the United States and UkraineAmerica’s strategic partner that enjoyed decades of strong bipartisan support....
"Everyone is laughing at you, scoffed Skabeeva, addressing a Ukrainian panelist on 60 Minutes. Maksim Yusin, the editor of international politics at the leading Russian business daily Kommersant exclaimed, Ukraine is toxic, everyone will want to avoid it now.
When Ukrainian panelist Alexander Goncharov said that his country is relying on the support of Republicans, the hosts and other panelists broke out in uproarious laughter. Listen to Rand Paul, said the co-host of 60 Minutes, playing the clip of the Kentucky senator bluntly stating: I wouldn’t give them anything. The Kremlin is poised to reap more rewards from the presidency of Donald Trumpand suddenly, Ukraine seems to be within reach.

Re: Impeachment debacle
The accused has the right in any context to confront his accuser
Tell your local police they must have every suspect and their lawyer in the room in all relevant interrogations. It'll give them a good laugh.
quote:
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.
  • impeachment is not a criminal matter.
  • What's happening is not a prosecution, it's an investigation.
  • The whistleblower is not one of the witnesses against Trump. Trump’s culpability has been solidly established by people with more direct and complete knowledge.
Trump tried to extort Ukraine to announce an investigation into a long settled matter, not to advance the interests of the US but rather for personal political gain. He came within a few days of succeeding before the chicanery was exposed. But we all know the Senate won't convict; Trump could anally rape a newborn on the steps of the Capitol and you and your ilk would cheer him on.
