Re: No argument?
How could I ever have made any argument? Its all belief. There is no objective evidence.

Re: No argument?
Investors Business Daily writes:
The dominant force in America and many other Western countries today is fear of the left.
This is a result of the fact that the most dynamic religion of the past 100 years has been neither Christianity nor Islam. It has been leftism. Whoever does not recognize this does not understand the contemporary world.
Leftism in its incarnations, such as Marxism, communism and socialism; expressed through egalitarianism, environmentalism and feminism; in its denigration of capitalism and Western civilization, especially America and Israel; in its supplanting of Christianity and Judaism; through its influence on Christianity and Judaism; in its celebration of race; and in its replacing of reason with romanticism has almost completely taken over the news and entertainment media and institutions of education.(...)Why are so many Democrats shocked when a Republican is elected president? Because, as they themselves say, they "don't know anyone" who voted for the Republican. The primary reason for this is the people in their life who voted for Donald Trump professional colleagues, and even friends and relatives are afraid to tell them.
There are two reasons the left labels most conservatives and all Trump supporters "white supremacists," "neo-Nazis" and "racists." One is to defeat conservatives without having to defeat conservative ideas. The other is to instill fear: Speak out and you will suffer the consequences.
Faith has these ideas and I had to search for someone who agrees with her online. Personally I'm not that extreme. God's will will be done on earth until the end comes. If He wishes to use the Left or the Right to bring us down so be it. Still, we will be judged on how we respond.

I didnj't write that, Phat, it's from the OP article I posted by Dennis Prager. I thought he did a great job of putting his finger on an important trvth about the state of things today but I did not write it. So you disagree with Prager, fine.

Something tells me that you would be an overly permissive Father. Lets go with that analogy. Would you let your teenage daughter stay out all hours of the night? Would you let her smoke at age 13? Would you let her use marijuana? Would you let her stay the night with boyfriends? How inclusive would you be?

Those are in no way analogous. The things you used as examples are destructive behaviors. Guess it shows how you feel about those who do not have your beliefs.
If that were my daughter, I would still love her. Guess your god dude wouldn't.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts
"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.
If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

How would you stop her? Teenagers do those things. You can't physically stop them. You could kick them out of the house, which seems to be what you're suggesting.
Most human parents try to be a good example - your God might want to try that.
And most human parents try to make their children aware of the consequences of their actions. Tell them not to eat the fruit and the first thing they'll do is eat the fruit - and then they'll have the knowledge of good and evil.

Re: Christian fundamentalim is abhorrent
Im not talking about loving her or not...obviously you would love her. Im talking about disciplining her and setting some standards. We should expect no less from God. Many unbelievers cant get past the idea of an autocratic OT God who slaughters innocents. For believers, however, the God Who is (as we see Him, anyway) is a stern yet loving Father. He won't let her bring the boyfriend to stay the night, but He will not boot her out the door for making mistakes. Think of Heaven as the next home after this life and think of what a Father would consider when adopting kids. You don't just pick anyone. (Likely sounds too exclusive for you inclusivists)

If we get as far as Heaven, there really won't be any differing beliefs at that point. Everyone will clearly see reality at that point as it is. The issue is the credentials required to stay in Heaven. But getting back to our teen analogy...
ringo writes:

In our analogy, they are not yet even IN the house. They (we) are being considered for adoption.
quote:
ADOPTION
In Rom 8:15, believers are said to have received "the Spirit of adoption," that is, the Holy Spirit who, given as the Firstfruits of all that is to be theirs, produces in them the realization of sonship and the attitude belonging to sons. In Gal 4:5 they are said to receive "the adoption of sons," i. e., sonship bestowed in distinction from a relationship consequent merely upon birth; here two contrasts are presented, (1) between the sonship of the believer and the unoriginated sonship of Christ, (2) between the freedom enjoyed by the believer and bondage, whether of Gentile natural condition, or of Israel under the Law. In Eph 1:5 they are said to have been foreordained unto "adoption as sons" through Jesus Christ, RV; the KJV, "adoption of children" is a mistranslation and misleading. God does not "adopt" believers as children; they are begotten as such by His Holy Spirit through faith. "Adoption" is a term involving the dignity of the relationship of believers as sons; it is not a putting into the family by spiritual birth, but a putting into the position of sons. In Rom 8:23 the "adoption" of the believer is set forth as still future, as it there includes the redemption of the body, when the living will be changed and those who have fallen asleep will be raised. In Rom 9:4 "adoption" is spoken of as belonging to Israel, in accordance with the statement in Ex 4:12, "Israel is My Son." Cf. Hos 11:1. Israel was brought into a special relation with God, a collective relationship, not enjoyed by other nations, Deut 14:1; Jer 31:9, etc.

ringo writes:

How was jesus not a good example? Certainly better than Chutulu or loki.

Think of Heaven as the next home after this life and think of what a Father would consider when adopting kids. You don't just pick anyone.
As the father of two adopted kids, I find this comment and attitude abhorrent. Do you think adopting is like going to a car dealership and picking out the car that best suits you?
You adopt the child that needs you and that you need. The one at the children's home with disabilities and behavioral issues that has stolen your heart. Or the one that is placed with you as a foster child because his mother is addicted to drugs.
You don't pick the one that you think you can most bend to your will or that will follow your instructions the best.
But I guess good christians like you do not understand something like that.
You offend me. Your religious beliefs offend me.

Re: Cosmic Tyrant an invention of atheists
Why can't you atheists get it right? Zeus and Thor and Horus were all local gods, tribal gods, whereas the God of the Byble is universal, recognized as universal. As far as which is most "llkely," who knows how llkely anything is after it's been processed through the atheist mind.
And I have another pet peeve to bring up. Why can't anyonje get it straight, and in this case even some Christians forget it, that we are not"by nature" selfish and competitive and greedy and murderous and whatecver other evll qualities you want to impute to us. All that developed in us at the Fall, you know, when the snake told us we wouldn't die but be as gods when we ate the fruit we were told not to eat. We're now sinners and now subject to disase and death as a result.
And that's not normal either, death and disease I mean, all that is the result of the Fall.
At least if you're going to keep putting down Christianity you should put it down for what it actually says.
And Pascal said that by the way.

There is no Fall in Genesis 2&3!
Faith writes:

Have you actually ever read the Bible Faith?
There is no Fall in Genesis 2&3 and the God character in Genesis 2&3 said we did become like Gods and neither Adam or Eve died or even died some Spiritual Death.
Stop misrepresenting what is actually written in the Bible and marketing the made up story of your cult.
