If I were a Russian asset President would I:
- do something outrageously treacherous that impeachment and removal would follow, or
- do a whole bunch of little actions to gaslight Americans and foreign countries into thinking it was just because I was stupid/ignorant/incompetent ... while whittling away at what makes us America?
... just asking.

all of the above
18 U.S. Code § 2381 - Treason | U.S. Code | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute#
quote:
18 U.S. Code 2381. Treason
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.
(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 807; Pub. L. 103—322, title XXXIII, 330016(2)(J), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2148.)
Spreading Russian propaganda
Blocking measures to protect elections against more Russian interference
Abandoning Syrian Kurds so fast the barracks were left up for the Russians to use
Delaying Ukraine aid, to harm their defense against Russia and trust in the US
Extorting South Korea leaving them more open to China

NRA complicity
Also bribe, extort, or just convince the most venal and/or stupid of Republican politicians to spread propaganda to support these actions and suppress any countermeasures. The treason being committed against the United States is not just by one man, it is by the entire Republican core.
And I'm sure they can continue to use the NRA to launder money into the elections and connect to the militia organizations to form brown-shirt companies. Get them into ICE to turn that into SS type troops.

Re: all of the above
None of these things requires Trump to be a Russian agent.
Curiously I am not really interested in #DumbtyTrumpty in this thread, but how a hypothetical Russian asset President would behave.
Don't know the details of what's being referred to here, but it does not appear to have anything to do with Russia.
Weakening support of allies makes all allies wary of future support against enemies.
