Personally I think that virus is no real threat unless it mutates. China has shown its strength at getting things done when it counts, and their rapid response is a testimony of their power. The US is so fragmented and divided by contrast. We the 1% in order to form a more perfect union.....yada yada yada. The Democrats hold out hope for consensus and liberty for all, but right now money calls the shots. that will be the next great bubble to collapse, I fear, and we will all be talking about a new problem...if we still have the time and leisure to be on the internet.

Indeed. If we cause a Great Depression with 30+% unemployment, our financial system will likely be the next great bubble to implode. One cannot simply create two trillion dollars out of thin air and then follow it up with another 400 billion stimulus relief package. The conspiracy theorist in me suggests that some leaders know darn well what is going to happen. The real question is if we are obligated to save the global economy at the possible cost of a few lost lives. Where is the cutoff point?

You know when I saw the news clip of Trump talking about sunlight and disinfectant my reaction was "This must be a fake video. Even he could NOT be saying that!!!!"
I felt the same way. My conclusion was that Trump is acting and talking stupid on purpose to placate his base and mock the educated elitists who urge us to fully trust science and reason in order to save our planet. This may blow your mind, but there was an evangelical "prophet" who was on record predicting Trump's victory a few years before it happened and he also predicted that Trump would fully become an evangelical himself during his (predicted) 2nd term. I know it all sounds contrived, but I see the evidence that this guy did predict Trump's victory (documented) a couple of years before he even announces he was running for president.

What is going to solve this problem aside from science and reason?
Consensus and cooperation. Humans by nature will never simply do everything science tells them to do because we never listen to someone unless we trust them as a human and not just an expert.

The thing is, if the city breaks up these campsites it will just cause more potential shoplifers to move down Colfax nearer to my grocery store. We have a $2,000.00 loss every day now as is. Times are getting tougher and potentially will affect more classes of people.
