quote: Presumably you mean we won’t go down under dictatorship and debt. Or are you expecting Trump supporters to stage a coup?

quote: No they haven’t.
quote: And why would that happen under the Democrats rather than Trump who has been working hard on increasing the debt and claiming more power for the executive?
quote: Since you are such a fan of dictatorship and debt, you must be expecting a coup from your fellow Trump supporters.

GAO decision
Faithful execution of the law does not permit the President to substitute his own policy priorities for those that Congress has enacted into law. OMB withheld funds for a policy reason, which is not permitted under the Impoundment Control Act (ICA). The withholding was not a programmatic delay. Therefore, we conclude that OMB violated the ICA. So, Trump exceeded his authority. What a surprise.

Strong-arm tactics are his way of negotiating. See

It’s interesting that in one post you accuse the Democrats of violating the law and in the next your first sentence asks why Trump should bother following the law.
You should try actually understanding what you’re talking about. But I guess that would make you a Marxist.

quote: You certainly heard from Republicans. Exactly what role would the President’s team have in Impeachment which is basically investigation and laying charges ? You’re not still confusing it with the trial are you ?
quote: A right which comes in at the trial. Besides he did have the opportunity to attend, he just refused. And that is on him.

You seem to assume that everyone wants to take the side of evil, as you do. That is not the case.

You mean that everything you’ve said on the impeachment is just a joke? I think you should do something about your sense of humour.

And he’s wrong. Even if he fell for the conspiracy theory (which would be dumb) Trump did not have the power to withhold aid - according to the GAO. And conducting extortion through his personal lawyer rather than involving the appropriate agencies is hardly proper either.

quote: No. What you have heard is that a large part of the spending is untouchable. Spending is not debt. And it looks like Trump has so far increased the deficit by more than Obama did overall, even though Obama had two terms and inherited a recession (where deficit increases are expected).
The Balance (I assume these figures are accurate - I saw the same on another site which adds confidence) In 2008 the deficit was $459 billionIn 2016 the deficit was $585 billion In 2019 the deficit was $1,092 billion

quote: Of course he is. That is established fact.
quote: No, Trump is running up a trillion-dollar deficit.
quote: Cutting revenue and increasing spending will increase the deficit. And that is what Trump has done.
quote: It is funny that you label reality as fantasy while promoting your imaginings as fact. The tax base has not increased to the level required to replace the revenue lost to tax cuts,

quote: In reality there was a massive recession under Bush - brought about by unrestrained capitalism - and Obama turned it around. Now perhaps you can explain why your reality demands that we should lie about that.

Simple answer (there might be some complications but this is basically it).
The government has spending and income. If the government spends more than it receives the difference is the deficit. Thus if income is reduced and spending is increased the deficit necessarily increases. That’s simple arithmetic. And yes, military spending is a big budget item. The US spending is very high compared to other developed countries. Raising taxes is another option (and Trump has done some of that - just not enough).
