Faith writes: You obviously don't know when Trump is flattering an enemy tyrant. Of course we do. Trump loves tyrants and dictators. But that 2018 tweet wasn't to Kim Jong Un. It was to the American people, and it declared that "there is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea." Read it again since you obviously didn't read it last time. I put it in dark mode to make it easier on your eyes:
I'm sure he was hopeful that what he said was true but he's not stupid,... Yes he is. That's why his assessment of how much he'd achieved in his negotiations with Kim Jong Un was so far off the mark. Kim is playing him, just as he has tried to do with past presidents. It just works better with Trump because he's enamored of dictators and is vulnerable to flattery.
...he knows such a personality is not likely to hold to his promises. Everyone else knew Kim wouldn't stick to any promises, but Trump gave no indication of any such knowledge.
It's not a failure/lle at all,... It pretty much is.
...it's a hopeful statement designed to mollify the tyrant. It's a wishful statement reflecting a disconnect from reality.
That's Trump's style, it's a businessman's style. It's a sycophant's style, which is odd since he's so dictatorial at home. --Percy Edited by Percy, : Fix name.

Have you actually listened to videos of him speaking? Just sat and spent 20 or 30 minutes watching him? Skip the fake news, skip the good ol' fox folks and just listen? He is obviously stupid he can barely utter a coherent sentence! He's just bright enough to utter "he does good at rockets" about Musk. https://www.cnbc.com/...on-as-one-of-our-great-geniuses.htmlJump ahead to 16 mins if you can't stand to hear him mutter on.

I doubt Trump is under any illusions about Kim. But I'd point out that Kim seems to have stopped his threatening and saber-rattling and stopped lobbing missiles over Japan, which is what the original problem was. Perhaps Trump should get some credit for that.

Sometimes Mark Levinn will play a whole speech by Trump, or a very long segment of one of his rally speeches, and I don't see what you are talking about. No incoherence and the man can be very funny.

He's made it absolutely clear he's totally deluded by Kim. See previously posted tweet.

The original problem was Kim having nukes and developing ICBMs. He's resumed bomb production and has tested short range missiles. It appears his ICBMs are fully developed and not in need of more testing. Trump gave him a tremendous boost toward acceptance as a nuclear state by meeting him at all. Trump unilaterally cancelled exercises with South Korea for him. Trump got nothing. Edited by JonF, : No reason given.

Oh nonsense. Trump likes to flatter these guys as part o his strategy to get cooperation from them. I think it probably works to some extent with all of them, but again I don't think he's under any illusions. He's willing to take out a Soliemani and the world knows it now. He's got his eye on whatever Kim is doing, or the Islamic State of Iran and all of them. All these evil nations are a big threat to the world and Trump is the only, the ONLY, possible, deterrent to any of them after former American leaders let them get away with their murderous intentions.

It's the other way around.
Foreign leaders make a big hoopla, talk vaguely of billions of dollars purchases at some future date, and Trump comes home and announces a great victory. Remember the $100 billion of Saudi purchases he announced? It's actually $14 billion and maybe something more someday. Trump gets taken to the cleaners every time.

Faith? Were you injured by all this reality?
Obstruction of Congress is a made up nonentity
Are you ever going to figure out that all your claims about legality are horseshit?18 U.S. Code § 1505 - Obstruction of proceedings before departments, agencies, and committees | U.S. Code | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute quote: There was total denial of due process in the House. They finally offered a token right to defense after they'd already made their impeachment decision. What a farce to claim there was no denial of due process. We all know there was. Why don't you?
Because I know due process was followed, and I proved it. The Sixth Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America lays out when legal representation and confronting accusers is part of due process. I've posted it twice. Remember?
quote:The proceedings in the House were an investigation, not a prosecution. Impeachment and criminal are different. Due process was followed. The offered opportunity to defend was real and was turned down. Since you're so worked up about predetermination, what have you said about the sham trial in the Senate where they swore to "do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws:" after McConnell and Graham and others had publicly annound acquttal is guaranteed and they will not do impartial justice? I know. "laws for thee but not for me".

He is not falling for what they say although you like to think he is. As usual he is flattering and schmoozingh them. He's not expecting the great victories, he's just hoping for them, but he's not deceived. You are but he isn't And besides, it's looking like he had a big success with China since they are buying stuff from us now.

All right, let's be more precise. What Trump actually did was take his case to court which is exactly what he should have done when there is a dispute between the Executive and Legislative branches: take it to the Judicial Branch. that is not obstruction of anything, that is operating within the Constitution.
And due process was NOT followed. That is becoming a sick joke. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

He's announcing great victories that didn't and won't happen. The end of Kim's nuclear threat. $100 billion from Saudi Arabia.

I don't follow this stuff a lot. I don't know if he's exaggerating although it's clear he does have victories, lots of them, which the Left likes to pretend don't exist, or eventually his declarations will turn out to be true but it will take time, or what. I don't know. But I'm more likely to chalk it up to style than lying since I know he HAS had great victories in most of what he's set out to do. Exaggeration? He shouldn't, OK, but when it's true he does have victories it's not the huge criminal thing you all try to make it out to be.

As the administration argues in court that courts have no jurisdiction over the executive branch. Tres amusing, but stupid. Trump didn't take the case of his extortion and obstruction to any court. He didn't take the question of compliance with the investigation to any court. He just ordered everyone t not7comply. This is not a disagreement between branches. It's Congress appropriately excercising its Constitutionally granted powers (except for the Republican Senators who are violating their sworn oath).
And due process was NOT followed. That is becoming a sick joke.
It's been a joke for a long time. You repeating falsehoods doesn't make them true. Exactly what due process was not followed? Legal representation and confronting accusers was not applicable to the House investigation, just as it is not applicable or applied to thousands of law enforcement investigations every day.
