So even if there is a future Palestinian state, it would be economically dependent on Israel. He called the plan, Occupation Lite.
Not a major slip up, but if I'd made it in his shoes, I'd have smiled, apologised and made a joke about going back to geography lessons for a couple of weeks.
That would have been one of the approaches which would bring a divided nation together though. Not what Don wants.

On this day when senators will vote to acquit Donald Trump of his high crimes and misdemeanors, effectively making all abuses of power above the law, the truth is a refreshing change.
Shame on every one of them.
Those who vote lot acquit are complicit in his crimes.
As I suspected would happen from the jump, Trump has been acquitted. I attribute this mostly to the lackluster allegations and sloppy job legitimizing a case against him. I thought the Articles of Impeachment were very shoddy and very weak. Also, predictably, this just bolstered his base even further. Donald Trump, whether we like it or not, has a better chance now than ever to be a two-term president.
I wish they had not proceeded with the articles until they had something substantial and incontrovertible against him. I understand the desire to proceed given the timing of the election, but if you don't have a good case then you run the risk of increasing his popularity -- he's some kind of teflon mafia don now.

Every single Democrat voted Guilty and every single Republican (with the exception of Mitt Romney) voted Not Guilty. If this isn't partisan politics then I don't know what is. We have a deeply flawed system.

Every impeachment incident has been along party lines. Impeachment is a political function.
With one exception.
We've had three presidential trials in US history, one per century. In the Johnson and Clinton trials, no senator of the President's party voted to convict and remove. None.
This time there was something new: a senator of the same party as the President voted to convict and remove.
Therefore, in a historic first we did have a bi-partisan vote to convict and remove Trump.

So what has been the progress on those items so far? How's the Independent Ethics Committee doing today? Has the Single Payer been found yet? And have the tax breaks for the wealthy been curbed yet?
Have the Democrats thwarted every attempt of President Trump to push through those reforms?
