Re: Violence breaks out as first wave of migrant caravan arrives in Tijuana, Mexico
And how many American young men can, or will, roof houses in the Texas summer sun from dawn to dusk with no vacation? Or milk cows and shovel cow poop all day in any kind of weather for less than minimum wage? I think you’ve hit on something here, Faith.

Not at all. More that there needs to be a little more equity in how these crappy jobs get distributed and remunerated. Maybe put some congressmen and CEOs out on the killing dock at the chicken processing plant for a week or so.
I didn’t like it too well when I was a pup. And I was a Giblet Toter, not a Neck Slitter.

Re: Violence breaks out as first wave of migrant caravan arrives in Tijuana, Mexico
It has a great deal to do with illegal immigration. 19% of the employees in the US dairy farming industry are undocumented, according to a survey I read of recently. I don’t know percentages for poultry of beef processing, but those are apparently high. I know from personal observation that a great number of undocumented folks work in the oilfield, not just here in Texas but in, say, North Dakota as well. Construction workers, nursing home workers, maids in motels.....
The US economy depends real heavily on underpaid, overworked, often undocumented employees. And they’re disposable, because they’re nearly untraceable. It has to be a hell of a life, and the country is not set up to do much to help. Wailing about invaders doesn’t accomplish anything beyond perhaps generating vote for Ted Cruz and his odious ilk.

Re: Acosta’s credentials to be restored - for now
Mr Trump is, after all, our employee. We should have fired him already, but it’s probably for the best that they made that difficult.

Re: El Paso Needs a Wall
An additional data point for this whole border debate: my wife and I visited Mexico back in December. We’re both pretty dang Anglo looking, I guess, so there is that factor - but we went into Mexico without seeing an official of any kind at the (official) crossing. We came back three days later at a different (still official) crossing in a pickup truck with a covered bed with a box of very nice Mata Ortiz pottery inside. We showed our passports to the nice man at the border, told him we had some pottery, and were waved on in less than a minute.
I could have had my pots packed full of Fentanyl, or I could have had three smallish ISIS terrists hiding under the bed cover. There was one agent in the booth, and no one else obvious. What appears to me to be needed to “secure the border” is to spend some of that wall money on, say, hiring some more people to man those crossings, and paying them enough to sit in a little shack twenty miles south of Columbus, New Mexico and also live out there in the 105-degree summers. There may be a bit of wall out there, but a couple of hundred miles of Chihuahuan Desert makes a pretty good barrier already.

Re: Customs Agents Will Shoot to Kill
Tell your daughter to have someone show her the basics of The Clutch, and then learn to drive like we old farts did: by killing the engine a couple of hundred times over the first week.

I once spent a summer assisting in the killing of 8000 chickens every day, five days a week. I didn’t eat chicken for a couple of years after that.

Well, Chiroptera, you need to acknowledge all the efforts of the ISIS fighters hiding in empty Walmarts after Jade Helm 15, as well. And they gave kids hijabs as well as ebola.

Re: Pensacola shooter identified as from Saudi Arabia
Women covering their heads? In 1960 in Arkansas, at least, grown Presbyterian or Methodist women didn’t even think of going to church without a head covering. And don’t even ask about wearing slacks! That would have been the very zenith of foul paganism!

Why in the everlovin’ fuck do you feel the need to star the commentators that you believe to be homosexual? Does that give them some superspecial newscasting ability?

Re: LIBERAL FASCISM IS HERE: IGNORANT FAKE NEWS
Marc, back around 1901 in Teddy’s day, illegal immigration was pretty much being a stowaway on a ship coming to the USA. Legal immigration was buying a ticket. Depending on what year, there were restrictions on undesirables such as Chinese folks, but they didn’t issue visas back then.

Re: Trump Lies Again
If anybody had been killed....
But since several of our folks were merely injured, we just said that nobody was injured and surpressed the news that they actually were for a couple of weeks. Got ya, loud and clear. Thanks.
