More deaths than SARS now.
Considering the fact that this has been a relatively isolated illness, I am going to consider the 800 deaths so far to be serious though one can ask why the Flu deaths don't get the coverage they deserve.
And we don't know what else is going to come.
I hope hand washing gets the credit it deserves for stopping illnesses. I have noticed that fundamentalists have something in the way of responsibility for twisting scriptures in a way that downplays hand washing but that is another topic.

I wonder.
Will there be a move toward more and bigger hospitals via federal government action and funds.
What about homeless shelter policy. Will there be a move to give the homeless their own rooms. It must be understood that most homeless men live on the streets and there are not enough shelter beds or cots. What about the homeless that must be out in public all day if not all night.
Perhaps the best thing would be for all people to have the right to live outside in the grass and woods without getting a charge for trespassing by police. This would solve the homeless problem and even reduce non homeless peoples chances of becoming infected by a virus. Encourage people to stay outside and away from people.
This is all I can think of when the idea is keeping people as far from each others viruses.
I hope Sanders and de Blasio can show how much the healthcare paywalls contribute to the public health crisis that can never be ignored again. Biden's best efforts aside.

Re: Keeping it in perspective
Only 33 dead American residents have age known to date. 1 was in 40s and 2 were in 50s.
30 were over 60.
I remember back when Italy had only 105 deaths and none were under 50. I remember the average person dead then was 81.
Now our average dead seem to be 81 too.
Italy is now loosing over 200 people a day.
The disease is around 3 to 5 percent fatal so far it seems but probably over 10 percent if you are over 59 ,so that is bad.
And credible authorities say that eventually 75 to 150 million Americans will become infected with the virus if trends continue.
We could possibly see about 5 percent of older people succumb to this virus.
I don't blame elderly people for being really scared.

Re: A Small Book about Boosting Immunity
Michael Savage also says that vitamin pills only work when you only take one or a few specific targeted ones. Multi vitamins or multiple supplements don't get absorbed.
Reminds me that I really need to order algae based Omega 3 fat pills. Been going years without any omega 3 in my system.
We all have to choose our targets wisely.

Re: A Small Book about Boosting Immunity
Savage was using hyperbole when he said 99 percent.
He is concerned about the right things medically most of the time but other times he goes too far.
He is one of the few that is concerned about organ damage caused by anti psychotics and the reckless disregard psychiatrists routinely show toward the mentally ill. Savage has spoken against discrimination against the mentally ill like few ever will.
The fact is that many autistic people fall into a trap of becoming what society imposes on them. I feel like this is an issue where everything can be easily taken out of context no matter what is said. Savage was wrong at times and especially some soundbites but he is the best radio host on mental illness issues there is.

Italy lost 475 to coronavirus Wednesday. 2978 deaths total in Italy, passing China
Wow.
One relatively small country is passing 3000 deaths as we speak.
The standard response to the question WHY ITALY has been met with the point that Italy is an country with an old population plus some other reasons.
We all have to wonder if there will be this much touted PEAK in deaths or will there be an upward climb, in cases and deaths , that advances in a numerically linear trajectory. Nobody feels like it is a real possibility for exponentially higher deaths and none of us can fathom just what it would be like for that to happen.
Italy is hopefully peaking at 500 deaths a day, but is it really. Can't find question mark on my phone.

Italy is over 4000 deaths now.
Thursday saw a slight drop to 427 which made for 3405 deaths.
But Friday deaths are at 627, so 4032 total.
And we don't have knowledge of where Italy or any other place is at in terms of where we are in the exact time stage of this pandemic.

Re: Blast from the Past: Vaporware
I first heard the term used in 1991 when Nintendo kept promising a CD drive for its last truly good system, the Super Nintendo. It never came and instead we all got that piece of crap in 1996, 5 years later, the Nintendo 64. I bought and sold the thing in one day. Have not been a gamer since. The Mario Kart game was bought and sold by me the same day. The Mario Kart 16 bit game was amazing, the 64 bit game was garbage. Like all of the 64 bit sequels.
As for the Democratic Party getting a boost from the virus, just remember that impeachment did not work the way Democrats planned, as I warned a friend of mine that is a county chair of the party. I said that long before the actual impeachment. The virus issue is real but the problem is the boy already has been crying wolf. The Democrats need to keep the public from smelling political sleeze. Best to be careful in the talking point noise. The Democratic talking heads will not.

See Sarah Newey Telegraph article just released March 20
She asked why 8 percent of the infected in Italy die when death rate is 4 percent in China and 0.3 in Germany.
The answer is that Italy is not considering the infected to be succumbing to some other illness. The older argument that mild cases are not being recorded and added to the infected tally is also thrown in to explain the difference in death rates.

California is planning for 25 million peopke to be infected in 8 weeks
There have only been a few thousand infected so far, perhaps 10 thousand, in California.
This was reported the same day I said nobody is assuming exponentially higher infections, so I missed that one.
California is also putting the homeless in hotels.
We still need to allow people to sleep outside without trespassing and loitering charges. Any place, any time of the day. The hope I hold is that is gives people the freedom to find a spot safe from the virus problem that is ending many many lives.
Biden said we need tent hospitals, perhaps so there can be quick expansion to solve the problem of too few facilities. I would prefer that the tents be OPEN AIR and separated a good distance from one another.
No politician has taken responsibility for the failure to plan for this thing. We should have been aware of the risk of viruses long ago, and it is obvious that NO POLITICIAN ever wanted to spend the money for OVER CAPACITY in hospital facilities with all the equipment costs, healthcare worker training costs, the worker costs themselves, and especially the massive land costs. I give some credit to the single payer healthcare realists like Sanders since there was the beginning of the realization that money has to be sought after to begin to fund our health care system reform and needs.
I can't access it presently but I have an article I saved about 8 to 10 years ago which showed the money it would take to classify 100 percent of viruses and bacteria AND to characterize the features.
100 million dollars invested could classify about 83 percent.
100 billion dollars would be able to classify 99 percent and characterize most of its features.
The idea was to get a bit ahead of deadly outbreaks. I will try to find it when I get a computer soon.

Italy losy 793 Saturday. This shoots a hole in the peak theory we all are hoping for
This means we all are in for a grim existence. You and I are going to be miserable and fearful while wanting a good story on rapid and promising vaccine development news to be actually reflective of what happens.
The only ray of sunshine is perhaps we will all see how full of crap the militarists and the political class have been when they distracted us from the REAL THREATS and sapped our resources without mercy.
We are now in the midst of what we all should have been spending our resources on trying to prevent AND significantly mitigate with proper preparation.
It is about as much of a political class failure as there could possibly be and we are just beginning the period of consequence.

I am sure the governments 2 trillion wont finance immune boosting food
Coronavirus colds are quicker passing and more mild if the infected have been consuming vitamin C containing food for a good while before the infection.
How much will you bet me the government clowns YET AGAIN prove they care not one bit about nutrition evidence and results, despite having an unprecedented 2 trillion load to throw around. We should call this 2 trillion dollars an example of the government throwing up the vomit from the disease that THE GOVERNMENT ITSELF should be responsible for.
We should have the right to sue each of our congressmen for damages. Worthless representatives they really are.

Amazing how the immune system sees its need rise to a critical level.
With the government we have, we better get used to fending for ourselves or die.
Thank God this is not MERS.

We need 435 recalls and special elections for congress RIGHT NOW
We need to divide the candidates into 2 classes right away.
One one side is the awful reps we currently have, being those who have never prepared us all for such a predictable situation.
The other side should be made up of a political group of people that we aware of the dangers of viruses and bacteria.
We have to start with the House then moved to have 100 special Senate elections.
Take care of the bastards that serve forever FIRST and we can solve the institutional problem of having an aristocracy of incompetence.
I am not mentioning the fact that the presidency is short lived and frankly almost irrelevant. The political process and smokescreen aside.

Time take OFF the gloves. Just test people damn it
If the medical community understands that the deaths double every week, due to pathetically few tests, then there should be tests done NOW, regardless of the desire to save PPE.
The government failed to have masks and gloves stockpiled. The die have been cast on that one.
Just test everything and everyone ASAP. Do it so we can, as a matter of PRINCIPLE, do what we could and should have done if we somehow had a competent government and media all along. Then quarantine the positive cases.
We now have to operate on ideals. Even though the situation is far from ideal. I know I am going to just suggest we all live the myth that our political class failure is not so. The tests must be taken and just so we can fantasize about what it could have been if we prepared for the situation we are now in.
Open up all businesses and test everybody as much as possible, gloves or no gloves. Just test people. This is where we should be right now and it is sad we have a media that won't admit that they were not at all watchdogs on actual threats. The media needs so have a MEA CULPA on the Russian hoax crap. CNN and MSNBC, can lead the way, since they were so shitty in distracting us from actual and REAL dangers.
