Have I told you that I am an Episcopalian?

Re: feel all better now?
Learn to read.
I am an Episcopalian. That means I ascribe to the basic doctrines of the Episcopal Church including the "I believes".
It really isn't that hard to understand.

You essentially have eliminated the possibility (or desire) of interaction.
Still the total failure to demonstrate that you can read or understand or retain.
I have eliminated nothing but rather keep asking for someone to explain how interaction might be possible or even identifiable.
Phat writes:
I think what he (or I) is trying to say is that to you, the "I believes" are not direct belief in God's influence but in your charge.
LOL
He is free to think any fool thing he wants. Go read the "I believes" and try to fit what is actually written into what the above quote says. It's called the Apostles' Creed.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
There is nothing in there related to God's influence or in what we are charged to do.
Basics Phat, these are really very basic parts of Christianity.

If, however, Christianity is only about what we do, it is at best another chore with no benefits for being a member.
Exactly Phat. Granted, that is a hard sell and it's far easier and far more lucrative to sell the "Friends with Benefits" Christianity.
The benefits though are in creating a better world for those, the least of these my brothers.
quote:
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

There you go putting limits on God yet again.
You keep creating the God in YOUR image Phat.
Phat writes:
As of this writing, I am unconvinced that Christians do not benefit from the Communion beyond what non-Christians have. It will likely be hard if not impossible to prove, but it is the way it *should* be, in my opinion. Otherwise, God has no need to interact with our culture.
Why would God need to interact with our culture?

Re: There you go putting limits on God yet again.
Then it is not that God needs to interact with our culture but rather some of our culture needs to believe that God will treat them preferentially over all the other creation.

Re: There you go putting limits on God yet again.
Have you ever read Genesis 1? Do you remember where it says "31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."
Where in Genesis 1 does it say "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, the human was very good"
