And the point is that the indicators have never been valid and have been shown to be utter nonsense for at least two thousand years.
It's just a YAWN and a laugh.

Actually, Jesus said that we would know the end times and it would come during the lifetime of his disciples.
When that was shown to be fake the still living followers, particularly the author of 2 Peter, had to make up the excuses that have been used by the Apocalyptic CCoI ever since. And there is no evidence that those excuses will not continue to be needed for at least several more billion years.

Faith writes: Remember, at the Rapture, "the dead in Christ rise first," and that includes members of the Church at Philadelphia. So it really is that simple. As long as the dead members of the Church at Philadelphia have not become Zombies it ain't happening. The whole idea of rapture and tribulation and Second Coming and End Times is so ripe for the comedy clubs. Edited by jar, : fix sub-titles

Faith writes: So you don't believe in the resurrection at all. Interesting. I don't believe in the resurrection as marketed by the CCoI; their product is simply all con and no beef. The stories included in the different Canons are all stories written by humans for humans living at the time the stories were written. Revelations is a great example, a typical Apocalypse fantasy of the period and relevant only in relation to a hoped for fantasy involving Rome. Like Jesus End Times tale it is just another example of failed prophecy. We die, I believe that each of us is then "resurrected" but not here, not truly alive as we know living and that each of us will individually get judged.

Plus one other BIG reason.
All prophecy that has not yet been fulfilled is a failed prophecy. It just ain't soup yet and there is no evidence it will ever be soup.

Faith writes: What should be asked is why YOU are so committed to denying the obvious scripturqally based arguments of the God-given teachers I've been quoting. There is zero evidence that any of the people you market are "God given" as opposed to "Satan owned". What Paul has been quoting is not what the Snake Oil Medicine Men are selling but rather what is actually written.

There is zero evidence of spiritual discernment but ample evidence of what is actually written in the Bible stories and it is what is actually written that provides understanding and not the sales pitch of carny snake oil medicine men.

Just more word salad Faith with once again no supporting evidence.
Yet what is actually written in the stories is what is actually written in the stories and what you try to market is not what is actually written in the Bible. There is zero evidence of spiritual discernment but ample evidence of what is actually written in the Bible stories and it is what is actually written that provides understanding and not the sales pitch of carny snake oil medicine men.

Faith writes: Time will tell. Time has already told. The Tribulation and Rapture are simply easy cons to sell to willfully gullible fools.

Phat writes: Perhaps you can give us an alternative view regarding these Biblical events, seeing as how you may be the *only* man in Texas who has read the Bible fully from cover to cover and at the same time stuck to your guns regarding the dishonesty of classical apologetics. Gladly although it is just repeating what I have said here in the past. The stories that have been included (as well as the ones excluded) are simply reflections of what the authors believed or wished to believe at the time they wrote the stories and all have either come true in the past or failed to come true. But all of the End Times stuff is simply failed prophecy. All of Revelation is failed prophecy. All of the apocalyptic writings included what was claimed to have been said by Jesus is just failed prophecy. It really is that simple.

LOL
Faith writes: Oh come on. I'm sure the Popes release doves from that window from time to time and it was a SEAGULL as well as a crow that IMMEDIATELY attacked them. And the Seagulls were all crying "Mine, Mine, Mine" But clever clever people can always invent something to pretend basic biology is something mystical.

The Apocalyptic stories today from all the Apologists marketing pre-Tribulation or Tribulation or Rapture are no different than the Apocalyptic stories in the Bible; folk marketing what the think or wish or fear is going to happen during the lifetime of their audience. And like all of the Apocalyptic stories in the Bible each and every modern iteration has failed to come true.
But it is good business and very profitable.

Phat, John MacArthur might very well honestly believe in the product he tries to sell. But then that might well be true too of the Medicine Man on the back step of his wagon.

Yes Faith, I do have an idea of what I am talking about and I actually can and have read the Bible and firmly believe the Bible says what is actually written in the Bible.
