What about Job, the guy was believing and worshipping god. And god went to the DEVIL to brag about him. They had a bet the devil killed his children and was permitted to do so by god. But that's alright cause in the end Job got a new children to replace the old ones. So according to the bibles morals its all squared away.

I keep thinking lately that the most effective way to deal with this pandemic would be if great numbers of us saw ourselves as sinners and repented before God and asked Him to give us a solution to this problem.

Again, Scripture makes it abundantly clear that God doesn't care so much about punishing the guilty as He cares about torturing and killing the most innocent ones when He gets pissed off about something.
But how else do you expect god to forgive us, i mean there is literally no other option but a blood sacrifice of his son that is also him. I mean cmon do you forgive anyone their trespasses whiteout at least a little blood, no so how could god.
