Democratic Delegate Count and Primary Election Results 2020 - The New York Times
Biden 1180
Bernie 885
Δ 295
MSM says Biden is closing in on magic number 1991 ... with just over half the needed number ...
I expected Florida to be heavy for Biden, but I expected Arizona to be better for Bernie

Joan Walsh on Sanders' primary defeats
From the Nation:
Is It Too Late for Bernie Sanders to Win Over Black Voters?
This article doesn't seem to be behind a pay wall. If one has shown up, I apologize.
Joan Walsh points out that Sanders is still having trouble connecting with black voters and the suburban women voters, and these groups were key to Biden's wins. She also points out a few of the mistakes that Sanders and his campaign made.
One mistake is not recognizing, as I've tried pointing out, that the Democratic Party is a coalition of different voices and a candidate needs to try to appeal to as broad a coalition as possible.
It turns out that Democratic primary turnout has surged since 2016, but it’s mainly among moderates, like those white, college-educated suburban women, not the young people Sanders counted on. Those female voters, along with black voters, powered Biden’s overwhelming win in Virginia, where the state legislature has flipped blue, thanks to an increase in the number of women candidates and voters, as well as his surprise victory in Texas, where he carried the suburbs around Dallas and Houston that also went blue in 2018again on the strength of suburban women.
Walsh also reminds us that there is a hard core of Bernie fanatics who attack anyone who disagrees with them rather than try to engage with any opposition. Sanders has been seen as not doing enough to disavow his deplorables (and, yes, I used that word on purpose). If anyone reads the article, I suggest reading the comments; you'll see the sort of thing Walsh is talking about.

+Re: Update delegate counts
So the pause has given California etc time to get their counts in:
Democratic Delegate Count and Primary Election Results 2020 - The New York Times
Biden 1,217
Bernie 914
303
not much difference.
New York will likely be the next big test, not only for holding a primary but for how people are reacting to the virus and medicare.

Re: +Re: Update delegate counts
New York has just passed 1000 deaths.
Considering the popular media is in the business of defeating Sanders with any excuse OR candidate OR ANY EXCUSE OF A CANDIDATE , and consider also the brainwashable public, then consider this over. The Democratic primary .
The real race is the general election.
Trump is possibly going to win the general election when one considers this unfathomable, to most, mess. He just looks way less slimy to most Americans than the other side and or the general political class. I think his xenophobic smell might not stink to enough voters under this crisis. The issues are all confused, and nationalism has made the infectious disease problem WORSE but Biden won't be able to care to make that case.
Democrats have to find an alternative to Biden, but Sanders is hated by the media. The people will follow the media especially when the DNC is united with the media.
This political class failure is clear to us all, generally, but the media and political class entirely will ignore the 800 pound gorilla in the room.
This means that the election will be chaos. I don't know what to expect.

I voted for Bernie in the Minnesota caucus/primary in 2016 and 2020, but you create an aura of irrationality around the Bern. I had preferred Warren as my first choice, and Klobuchar as my second choice.

the presidential election may be irrelevant
Remember, the actual election, if it happens, is pretty much irrelevant. In 2016 he said he might not accept the outcome of the election. Now the Congress with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding said that any act of the President that he believes is in the National Interest is legal.
Please, please, listen to the whole clip and watch il Donaldo's reactions.
This was all reported and acknowledged BEFORE people voted for him. Even if the voters change their mind is there any reason to think he would answer differently today? BUT today he has the authority of the Senate and Supreme Court to support him.

Re: the presidential election may be irrelevant
How funny. For over three years it's been the DEMOCRATS, originally Clinton supporters, who have refused to accept the election of 2016, and not only simply refused to accept it but spent all this time fabricating reasons to overturn it. All Trump means is that he would wait and see if he believes the election was rigged or not, it doesn't mean he's going to do anything more than argue that fact, but of course the leftist mindset will pretend he's plotting some kind of coup. I wonder why, could it be because that's what THEY have been trying to pull off for the last three years? What a bunch of screaming hypocrties, frauds and criminals..

Are you really so totally disconnected from reality?
Is Trump President?
And did he say what is shown in the clip?

Re: the presidential election may be irrelevant
There are two ways to take the idea of "accepting" the election. Of course he'll accept it in the traditional sense that Pence and Ivanka said he would, stepping down for a new President, but in this discussion he's refusing to say he'll accept that the election wasn't rigged before he sees the results of the election. It's this kind of thing over and over and over that the Left twists to make Trump sound like he's saying something he isn't saying. He often speaks in general terms that the Left pounces on to twist into specific meanings he was NOT saying. So he says for instance that the FDA approved the use of the quinine drugs for Covid19, without clarifying that the approval was only for emergency use, so the media and the Left in general make that out to be some kind of egregious lie. This has been one of the main tools of Leftist propaganda for Trump's entire Presidency. Bunch of hypocrites, frauds and criminals.

And this is the statement I've been waiting for.
Everyone knows damn well that Trump is going to claim the election was rigged if he doesn't win. The cultists are already mentally preparing themselves to scream "fraud" if they don't like the results.
If there's any fraud, I suspect it'll be in the red states, but even then there needs to be evidence besides "my side lost" to support such a claim.

Re: It's Over ... now it begins
Now Bernie can go on attack criticizing Trump and exposing each lie. Put him on after each time Trump is on TV to show "the other side" and "balanced news" that the right is always crying for ...
Bernie has a strong aversion to lying and affection for truth.
Round up all the other candidates and have them hit the talk shows to say how they would handle the crisis.
Trump's ratings are going up because of exposure, his catering to public desire, and nobody is countering his lies and misinformation.
Enjoy
