Re: The Quinine Drugs Problematic Miracle Cure?
Ohio and other states are limiting new prescriptions
Ohio Board of Pharmacy Emergency Rule
People with malaria, rheumatoid arthritis, and lupus are having trouble is some areas getting the medication they KNOW works because selfish people are buying up those same drugs because they MIGHT work. According to at least one article I read, doctors that don't treat possible COVID-19 victims are self-prescribing before they even have symptoms.

Re: To Mask Or Not To Mask.
Would microwaving destroy virus? I could see killing celled organism by boiling interior liquid but virus is just string of DNA.
Edited by 14174dm, : Mis spelling

Are we counting mortality the best way?
One of several news articles about overall death rate and whether coronavirus death counts are accurate
Coronavirus Is Only Part of the ‘Excess Fatality’ Mystery
Italy and Spain are showing total death rates at multiples of normal rates. The coronavirus may be contributing by causing deaths that are correctly attributed to corornavirus, are caused by coronavirus but not labeled as such for various reasons, and by overwhelming local medical staff & facilities so other causes of death are not treated.
Not sure where to find this information but I would be curious to see if the same increase is happening other places like NYC, New Orleans, Wuhan, etc.

Other data sites - NYTimes
I've been looking at the NY Times Coronavirus pages which are free for the duration.
The Covid-19 Pandemic - The New York Times
This particular page has state by state trends, map of hot spots by county level per capita, some articles on hot spots.
For those who think that coronavirus is only a problem for the filthy cities, not for the clean living country folk, Dakota County Nebraska is a current hot spot due to massive infection rate at the local meat plant. The Nebraska rate is twice the highest any county in New York reached.
World data and maps are also available.
For me the scary exercise is to sort the table of cases and deaths by country and apply the highest rate to the US.
San Marino cases is 1 out of 52 people with deaths at 1 out of 824 people
For the 328,200,000 people in US that is 6.3 million infected and almost 400K dead.
The rates are based on reported numbers so excess deaths for other causes or unidentified virus deaths would be even worse.

Other data sites - Statista
I stumbled across data service that is providing some statistics free
Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease pandemic- Statistics & Facts | Statista
Pretty much the same data as NY Times but presented differently.
