Phat writes: To be honest, its not easy taking the opposing point of view. Who in this thread first posted "It is important for you to examine your worldview and test it as if you were opposed to it."?
Phat writes: To me, it would be a sad sobering day if what you guys said were true and that GOD were simply an abstract unproved possibility and that the charge remained defined by humans for humans with no promises of any reward in having fed, clothed, loved, encouraged and supported other humans with no supernatural Father figure ready to hand out rewards to me and my fellow believers for having run the race so well. To even consider it as true in any way threatens my assurance that I unerringly believe. I will not doubt!! They are, but why should I even bother putting up this argument. You dont want the God that I market even if He were real. (and of course He is. He is alive) And I need Him. It frustrates me to no end that you would support a God Who allows people to remain unchanged and allowed to keep their own personality and lifestyle choices. Heaven is not all inclusive. If it were, God and I would have some issues. I would dare scold Him for being so liberal and tolerant. Heck, may as well allow Satan Himself back in! Start with each of the above.

Phat writes: I'm finally beginning to understand what you always meant when you told me to throw God away. I will say that this type of introspection can be quite uncomfortable and angst ridden. Yes, yes it can. Always best to do it as soon as possible.

quote: Read that carefully Phat and think about what it actually says. It is "The Venite", the "Oh Come". It is a part of what is known as "Morning Prayer", a service to begin each Christian's day. But it is also in many ways directly opposition to the God that you market.

But did you read it as I suggested?

Read it again. Slowly. Pay attention to what is actually written.

You are still showing that you are not honestly reading what is written.
Try again.

No Phat, you have skimmed it selecting only the pieces parts that make you happy.

Finally.
Now the next step is to take what you learned about reading and comprehension and try to apply it to EVERY bit of content EVERYWHERE. AbE: Phat, you are always claiming that what I call Christianity is some unique cult limited only to a membership of one; however the Venite is from Psalm 95 (or Psalm 94 if reading from the Vulgate) and is attributed to David although of course actual authorship is unknown. Parts of Psalm 95 are also quote in Hebrews. These are basics Phat. They are not some new creation but rather foundational to Judaism, Islam and Christianity. More importantly it makes God, the creator of all, seen and unseen, unspeakably evil.
But as long as Phat is a favorite then it's fine if his God is unspeakably evil to everyone and everything else. Phat loves his God that condemns everyone else but waits on Phat and friends.

Is God the creator of all that is, seen and unseen?
Is God omniscient?

Phat writes: The people of the book! Yes...I feel that simply calling them "people of the book" implies exclusivity. And I argue that exclusivity is in line with an exclusive God versus an irrational inclusive higher power or "force". What is written in "the Venite"? Phat, just a few posts above to even admitted what was written in the Venite.

We can IF we are honest Phat.
You admit that you believe that God is the creator of all, seen and unseen and that God is omniscient. Such a God can only be evil.

Yes, if there is a hell and God is the creator or all that is, seen and unseen then if the God is omniscient it is evil.
So you can have hell, a God that is the creator of all that is, seen and unseen and even if not good, at least not evil as long as it is also not omniscient. Edited by jar, : get away from the fhrer's censorship.

Phat writes: jar writes: You've painted God into a corner. You claim that He cannot be all-knowing if at some point in the future humans may end up in hell and He knew about it. Yes, if there is a hell and God is the creator or all that is, seen and unseen then if the God is omniscient it is evil. Well, again you are just showing that you cannot or will not read what is written. Go back and read what I wrote and you quoted and the read how you totally misrepresented what I had posted. Also it's not I that paint that God into a corner, it is YOU who created the God that created all that is, seen and unseen and is omniscient but also condemns some of his creation to hell. Your God, your creation, your corner! NMP!
Phat writes: jar writes: Might I ask what attributes you would assign to God in order for Him not to be evil? Whats that you say? Allowing everybody into heaven regardless of their transformation? I figured as much. That inclusive belief is pathetic and a lie from satan. So you can have hell, a God that is the creator of all that is, seen and unseen and even if not good, at least not evil as long as it is also not omniscient. It's your God Phat, the one you've created and market. Not my problem. It's you that wants to worship and market evil.
