Coronavirus and Pandemics

In Canada we seem to be more concerned about racism against Chinese people. Racists are often not the sharpest tools in the box to begin with but they don't seem to understand that Chinese people who have not been to China recently are less dangerous than non-Chinese people who have not.

Where I live (population ~ 1 million), we have 11 deaths and 4 in the hospital.

Past their "best before" date.

Y'know, I don't think I've ever even seen a mask for sale. We see stories all the time on the news about how everybody on earth who has access to a sewing machine is making masks. And I do see a lot of masks on the street. But I don't know how I would get one if I wanted one.

I also have limited Internet access - free wifi, and few places that let you sit inside. I'm sure I could find masks locally but they discourage "window shopping".There are a lot of cracks to fall through and unfortunately there are a lot of people who are worse off than I am.

Staples (where I work) has masks now - 50 for $35 Canadian.

It's a vicious circle. They believe everything he says so he can babble anything - it probably wouldn't even have to be words.
