Coronavirus and Pandemics

We set a major milestone this week; a total of 639 new cases. That is more new cases in one week than were reported during March, April & May total.The daily average of new cases in the first week of June was 22.The daily average of new cases during the second week of June was 47.The daily average of new cases in the third week of June was 91.There are nine days left in the month.Still seeing Twitter responses like "I'm not buying it!" and "very strange, 20 days ago, we barely had 500 cases, now we have triple the cases. As well as that on June the 1st there were 4000 plus cases pending. Seems that the cases everyday are from those 4000 who had not received their results for over a month." and "Are these recent cases? As in the last 73hrs? Maybe 14 days? Or are these test results from a month ago meaning patients incubation period is over and are now healthy? Just curious."What, me worry?

Well we started this week with a bang. 193 new cases in just one day. A new high. We will definitely get a gold star for these next nine days if that keeps up. But we have been kinda doubling the daily average each week this month; 22 per day week 1, 45 week 2, 91 week 3 ... but I sure would love to see some indication that things were leveling off.Gov says school will definitely open on time this year.

As the EU opens borders the NY Times is reporting that travel from the US may be banned.

As of today we are above the available beds and ICU units in Hidalgo County and with no signs of demand slowing.

The issue is that his base is also totally disconnected from reality. It is SOURCE over content. This is the guy that understood that he could shoot someone in broad daylight on 5th Avenue and not lose a single vote.And he is right.But wait, there's more. He has already pushed through 200 Federal Judgeships, Judgeships for life.He has total control of the Senate that is the body that approves appointments.He has purged the Attorney's General and the heads of all of the Executive Branch Agencies.And the Senate with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding determined that if he believes and act is in the "Best Interest of the Nation" that act cannot rise to the level of an impeachable offense.

The argument his lawyers made and the Senate agreed with the Chief Justice Concurring was that if the President thought his reelection was in the Best Interest of the Country then whatever he did to further that was not an impeachable offense.

No idea whether or not they *they* believed anything. But I do know what argument they presented and the Senate with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court accepted.

And deaths have always been a trailing indicator.The more the el stupidos spread the infection the more the susceptible population will suffer.Party now; kill your parents and grandparents and the infants in a few weeks.Edited by jar, : change fools to el stupidos to satisfy the Fhrer.

There is no excuse for that except their own choices. If the want to remain willfully uninformed then they will get the result they desired.The bill will get paid.

We started June with 9 cases on the first.We ended the month with yet another scary as Barr in a Bikini daily total of 440 new cases. Four Hundred and Forty cases in just one day.Three thousand four hundred and seven cases in just this one month.But wait, there's more. Yesterday we had eleven deaths from Covid-19. Eleven.But WAIT there's even more good news. Instead of making masks mandatory Governor Abbott restricted all elective surgery to make more beds available.

July started with an additional 270 cases and three additional deaths. June 1 we had 9 cases so we are only starting the month at 30 times as many daily cases as last month. Well, not today.Maybe tomorrow it will just disappear.I hope.
