There is no excuse for that except their own choices. If the want to remain willfully uninformed then they will get the result they desired.
The bill will get paid.

Clarification on increased testing and cases.
I meant that the increased testing allows the infected to do something about the infection.
Self quarantine.
That equals less deaths.
The responses seemed to think I was talking about infection statistics this month being an orange compared to the apple infections that were from past months infection statistics. It MIGHT be that the apples and oranges factor is true with respect to the relative monthly infection rates, but I was looking at death rates.
I might have mixed several things though.

Re: Less than 25,000 U.S. deaths in June, with 3 days to go.
Explain the 0.79 to 0.7 numbers. I actually have not been able to figure out which numbers you were talking about.
The deaths per million are presently at 392 per million in the US.
Texas is 80 per million.
Florida and Ohio are at 160, roughly.
Arizona is around 220.
New Jersey is 1700
New York 1600 deaths per million.
You said we would have 200,000 Covid deaths by Jan 1, 2021. We are already almost 129,000.

The last three weeks, I have seen more admissions and sicker patients than on the previous ten weeks, explained Joseph Varon, the chief medical officer at the United Memorial Medical Center. So it’s been an exponential increase on the severity of illness and in the number of cases we admit.

I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, she said, before describing the intense pain she’s experiencing all over her body.

we should have waited until October. people had to go to beaches and infect each other, etc.
we should have been locked down until October. now we're going through these phases of reopening, but when people start dying again, as they are now, they are going to relock the country anyway.

Found the graph.
Little or no correlation between number of tests and number of cases.

end of month summary.
We started June with 9 cases on the first.
We ended the month with yet another scary as Barr in a Bikini daily total of 440 new cases. Four Hundred and Forty cases in just one day.
Three thousand four hundred and seven cases in just this one month.
But wait, there's more. Yesterday we had eleven deaths from Covid-19. Eleven.
But WAIT there's even more good news. Instead of making masks mandatory Governor Abbott restricted all elective surgery to make more beds available.

I’m hearing that Abbott built in a huge loophole in his shutdown policy to allow elective surgeries in TMC and affiliates as long as the hospitals have enough capacity. Apparently enough capacity is pretty damn vague. Methodist Hospital even sent out a don’t worry, be happy post on Thursday that they had plenty of room and elective surgeries (translated very profitable. As I’m sure is a complete coincidence, TMC simultaneously halted realtime reporting of COVID-19 case rates and ICU capacity utilization in Houston. Hmm.

July begins.
July started with an additional 270 cases and three additional deaths. June 1 we had 9 cases so we are only starting the month at 30 times as many daily cases as last month.

Well, not today.
Maybe tomorrow it will just disappear.
I hope.

Just as July 3 is starting EST, under 131,000 deaths.
That means there were around 27.000 deaths in June.
The lowest since the modern monthly Corona era began in April 2020.
What will July bring?
I say ... more or less.
Remember where you heard it first.

COVID 19 By The Numbers
That would seem to indicate an anomoly. Conspiracy theorists would jump at that one. Perhaps we are dealing with different viruses. Why would the youth be targeted so much higher...unless perhaps they are the ones socializing more and exposing themself to crowds. The old folk are scared silly and just stay home and wear masks even when walking outdoors.

We must realize that the Reformation world view leads in the direction of government freedom. But the humanist world view with inevitable certainty leads in the direction of statism. This is so because humanists, having no god, must put something at the center, and it is inevitably society, government, or the state.- Francis A. Schaeffer
The whole war between the atheist and the theist comes down to this: the atheist believes a 'what' created the universe; the theist believes a 'who' created the universe.
