Re: Yucatan fountain
Walt Brown envisioned a great and forceful reuption of the fountains of the deep that ejected stuff violently upward. He even imagined that much of it went into space it was so forceful. Now we do not know the force involved, but it seems a safe bet to assume that the direction of the event may have come from below. Science has assumed it must have been from above. Got anything more than assumptions? Yes we have impacted quartz, but does it show direction?

Re: Portals in the sky sucked up the water
The only effects we see and feel are in this solar system area. Science is subject to this area!
Religious BS. Deny the reality of human knowledge all you want, it is not going away. This entire universe is ours to see and to science.

Re: Yucatan fountain
For all we know ...
For all *you* know.
We know a hell of a lot more than the blinders your puny religion wants us to wear would allow us to see.
For all the BS wishful thinking you and your religious apologists care to conjure we know what Chicxulub was and when it was. We know well what happened, where it happened and how it happened.
We are not as stupid as your religion seeks to keep us.
You could be misreading evidence.
We could have been, but that is what the last 40 years of peer review has negated. And unlike you religious weenies we do not close our eyes and our minds, ignoring actual fact trying to support an evil fantasy.
So, impact, yes! Impact around the time of the dino demise, yes.
Fountains of the deep, No! Part of your fantasy flud, No!

We all miss Walt. Not funny enough to get his own network show, but he could come up with some humor on occasion.

Re: Yucatan fountain
The issue is how the crater formed. Try to work on those tenses. I might suggest the movie scrooge.

Re: Yucatan fountain
Your link says nothing about the direction of impact, neither does it offer support for the religious dates it uses.

He had some good ideas. His problem was the same problem you have. He assumed the same laws applied always and tried to explain it all using those.

You have offered no peer reviewed or any other sort of evidence for the direction of the impact.
First I doubt you even looked at the site. Second, I would not be surprised you are unable, unwilling, to comprehend.
Regardless. You have nothing, as usual, that evidences any convenient change in physics that would allow your religious fairy tales to come true.

It has no possible way of knowing whether wormhole like openings in the sky existed temporarily long ago in the past.
Science only deals with the evidence that we have today. You're just shooting yourself in the foot with fantasies about wormholes. Unless we DO know about wormholes, we can't use them to test the accuracy of the Bible stories.
dad writes:
As for your concern about what the bible indicates about trees growing in the former world, a garden was planted. Man ate fruit from trees in the garden the same week!
In Genesis One, the earth brought forth fruit trees on the third day - no talk about "planting". The sun was not created until the fourth day, so you have a bigger problem there to solve.
In Genesis Two, there is no specific time line.

Here comes the sun
quote:
In Genesis One, the earth brought forth fruit trees on the third day - no talk about "planting". The sun was not created until the fourth day, so you have a bigger problem there to solve.
Chapter two fills in details of what happened.
Ge 2:8 - And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
The garden was planted.
The sun was made after plants. This shows that plants could not have been sitting around for millions of years waiting for the sun, so a day was a day. We also have trees and plants spoken about growing in the future in New Jerusalem, and no sun is needed. No problem whatsoever.
