Re: Advice for dealing with the virus, and a possible antiviral aid?
The RDA is low. The dose that is wise is between 100 and 500mg daily. You all are right in that too much is too much, but the RDA is not enough.

Re: My Trip to the Grocery Store
I've been shopping all over town and all of the grocery stores are 70% depleted. Could the rapture be far off?

Re: An Abundance of Caution
Amidst all this talk of safety, however...are you not inciting fear as a giant bogeyman in your own mind? Suddenly the world is a hostile place and us humans must prepare ourselves for survival at the expense of enjoying a normal life. I feel as if we are in quarantine on another planet with an unknown threat environment.

Re: The Latest Data
I would like to be able to upload MP3 files (audio recordings) to add to some of my posts. Don't they take up less space and/or bandwidth than videos? I never really understood this technology, by the way. I once was going to send a video to a friend and found that the file was too large, so I simply uploaded it to my youtube and made it unlisted and was able to send it that way.
Does YouTube then store the major part of the file rather than EvC? I never understand this stuff!

There is a new Cold War according to Newsweek. Back in the day the Soviet Union fought us and we won that Cold War through superior technology and burying them economically. China will prove much tougher. China is a patient country and has been undermining Western dominance for years, largely because we let them and even helped them. I suspect that much of the reason we still cant get Lysol and cleaning products on the shelves is due in part to the Trade War. Some analysts believe that the US will lose this next Cold War, dubbed Cold War II by Newsweek. Historically we had an interest in Banana Republics primarily to exploit them. Capitalism does have its dark side.

News From The Grocery Store
Percy writes:
No news from this weeks grocery shopping trip. I was wearing my AirPods Pro for the first time and was just blown away, never noticed anything about masks.
Reporting from my grocery store: They have opened back up for longer hours and less social distancing, though it is still officially posted.(People seem to be ignoring it more now) We are still required to wear masks, which is no problem for me. Better safe than stiff. I am cautiously optimistic about life in general, though I intuitively think that the COVID will re-emerge with a vengeance this Fall. Normal will never be normal again. Our world has changed forever.
I also saw an interesting show on Rocky Mountain PBS:

Re: Less than 25,000 U.S. deaths in June, with 3 days to go.
Sadly that is true. You always say that the people will get what they want, but I dont think most of them know what they want (except to make this all go away) or what they even need.
I wear my mask every day. I stay back from people when possible. And I wash my hands continuously. God gave me a brain for a reason.

COVID 19 By The Numbers
That would seem to indicate an anomoly. Conspiracy theorists would jump at that one. Perhaps we are dealing with different viruses. Why would the youth be targeted so much higher...unless perhaps they are the ones socializing more and exposing themself to crowds. The old folk are scared silly and just stay home and wear masks even when walking outdoors.

Re: Broadway Star Nick Cordero Dead at 41
Its no joke, is it. I was so sad as I perused that list of celebrities. Some of them were so young! Chris Trousdale was only 31!
Just for the record, I want you all to know that Isaiah Saldivar, the young evangelist whom I have showcased in my posts with Pastor ICANT, has many medical people in his extended family and warns his circle of influence that COVID-19 is a scientific fact and not a demon or a myth. Which shows that even charismatic Christians can be logical.

Nightmares In Deep South Texas
jar writes:
In my County we had one death in March; we had five deaths in April; four deaths in May; Twenty-two deaths in June and will have an estimated two hundred and fifty to three hundred deaths in July.
That's serious! I think your state is faring worse than mine. And it all happened recently too. This nightmare scenario is simply becoming worse and worse.
Any word on how Mexico is faring?

Re: From today's New York Times 07/23/2020
jar writes:
Only New York City and New Orleans at their peaks had more cases per 100,000 population than the Rio Grande Valley is experiencing right now. And six of the current ten highest rates of hospitalizations currently are also in Texas.
Do they know what caused such a spike in the Rio Grande Valley? What happened differently there than in Denver, for example?
