Perhaps Phat has converted over to Qanon craziness.

Re: Perhaps You Can Elaborate?
Batista was out for himself and out for the American gangsters. Castro was out for the people.
Yeah, Castro clung to power until he died and handed over power exclusively to his bloodline and didn't ever open it up to free or democratic voting process because he was "out for the people." Yeah, just a selfless man of the people. The hundreds of thousands of people [political dissidents/enemies] who either fled, were imprisoned or executed knew he was a "man of the people."
You're pretending that people only flee from socialism and I'm pointing out that you're factually wrong.
We were specifically talking about Cuba in relation to America. Americans don't go live in Cuba, Cubans go live in America. What does that tell you about the reality of the situation versus the one you desperately want to believe?
No, like the refugees crossing into Canada in the dead of winter, losing fingers and toes, to flee the US in search of a better life in Canada. Thousands of them
Are you comparing Canada with Cuba??? Canada is a functioning society on par with Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, etc. And Canadians move to America too, what's your point? Take Seth Rogan back, we don't want him

But American do go to Cuba, despite the fact that the US is still stupidly trying to isolate Cuba, for medical care they could not get in the US until very recently and that the current fascist US government is trying to once again halt.

You can't draw a general conclusion from one specific case. Which is why I gave you other examples that show your conclusion is wrong.

Sure. Canada and Cuba have always been friendly. We have a pretty good healthcare system too.

Canadian REFUGEES don't FLEE to America.

Re: Perhaps You Can Elaborate?
People fled America largely due to ideological (political reasons). My sister swore that if Trump were elected she would move to Canada. She never did, because with the mess she has it would have taken her 3 years just to prepare for the move.
People fled to Canada to avoid the draft back in your youth. Canada is a more efficient system than America, particularly in regards to healthcare. Its smaller in population too. I dont need to tell you that its a nice place to live.
The people that talked to Hyroglyphix about the horrors of Cuba were likely small business owners that had just had their livelihood snatched from them to be distributed among the poor impoverished masses. I would have been mad too!

Dont you guys get it?
To jar: The Bill Will Get Paid under a democratic agenda. Do you really claim to be an Eisenhower Republican and not see the damage that will befall the middle class?
To ringo: Though you claim that the Socialists will do what Jesus advocated, I'm not convinced. Jesus does not want all of us at the same economic level. The fact that you have claimed to have never made as much money as I earn in your entire life...and the fact that I am not even middle class...says a lot.
To Hyroglypix: Im thinking that we all will be better off under the Republicans. The Democratic agenda is too liberal and in line with the global socialism pushed by the CCP. America is not ready to roll over and give up yet. May God judge us fairly.

The bill will get paid under any Administration Phat. There is no way to avoid the bill; only a variety of ways to mitigate the pain that paying the bill will be. The biggest pain I see facing the middle class is the current fascist policies of the current Republican Party.
You truly have no idea of just how painful life will get for YOU if Trump is elected for a second term. You will kiss your union goodbye, kiss your employer healthcare, forget about Social Security, forget ANY job security, forget Medicare or Medicaid and be replaced in a heartbeat by a RFID based checkout counter. If Trump wins the election you will be unemployed by June of next year and in fact unemployable.

Since you are in a prophetic mood, give me an idea of what life will be like under Biden/Harris and a country abandoning their Judeo Christian heritage. What happens when the rich start moving out of the cities and jet off to live elsewhere? What happens to Safeway when the economy tanks as the bill gets paid? How is my job any safer under Biden? The RFID chips will still come.

Of course not, but I dont want to be making the same wage as they do. We Christians will suffer, however. I cant be an asshole and defend Capitalism. Socialism wont be the best system primarily because it is godless.

the RFID chips will come but under Biden Social Security might still be there as well as Medicare and maybe even Medicaid. There is even a possibility under Biden that the Union will be allowed to continue.
Under Trump there will be no unions, nor workers rights, not job safety requirements, only minimum wages, no unemployment, not environmental policies only rape and pillage of any resources and all going to the rich.

I agree with lifting the embargo. I don't see why making Cuba even shittier should have ever been the goal. The goal is to introduce the taste of freedom so that they will demand it for themselves/

Re: The Bill will get paid
Speaking of conspiracy theories...I recently saw a few online. Granted im not prone to believe anything based on source or authority alone, but I can intuitively see common sense when I read it. Here are three:
1) Newslatter from Stansbury Research:
quote:
Dear Reader,
In regular places all over America, the lights are going out.
No, I don’t mean the street lights or any other kind of electrical gizmo.
I’m talking about a vastly more important kind of light... the kind that comes from within. I’m talking about how, all over the country, Americans are losing hope in our most basic social agreement.
I’ve never seen this discussed in any other publication or financial research paper, but it’s this change that worries me most about our country today.
And I know if you think about it, and look closely at what’s happening, you’ll agree.
This kind of light is developed from living with a purpose, learning how hard work leads to success, believing you are being treated fairly, and from knowing that success, at least on some level, is possible for everyone in America.
This is the light that comes from a productive career... a sense of accomplishment and independence... a happy family life.
And this light, which should be inside us all, is disappearing across America.
It’s being replaced with a kind of animosity we haven’t seen in our country in almost 100 years.
I’m sure you’ve noticed all the angry political rhetoric...
Which includes socialism’s soaring popularity, and one crackpot scheme after another to take money from others like direct payments from the government to all citizens (universal basic income), totally free health care (Medicare for all), and most shockingly, demands for slavery reparations from Democratic leaders.
Pardon me for saying something politically incorrect, but I don’t think anyone alive today was ever a slave or a slaveholder. And, if you think we owe the descendants of slaves lots of money, imagine the bill Native Americans will soon present!
Likewise, have you ever known anyone who received health care at a VA hospital or strictly from Medicare? It’s a complete disaster. But that’s what a government monopoly in health care looks like. Why would anyone want that?
These ideas are all the result of the lights going out, all around the country.
And there’s a reason it’s happening, which very few understand.
There’s a reason so many Americans are losing hope losing their sense of independence and their dignity. There’s a reason so many people are turning to the failed plans of socialism.
It’s because most Americans are being left behind... in a way we’ve never, ever seen before.
The gap between the rich and the poor has always existed. But never, ever, on this level. And never with this speed.

And shockingly, this video...though a bit cheesy, has the adversary saying the exact things that jar and ringo spout. Note the quotes towards the end.

"A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." ~Mark Twain "
