A neighbour of mine here in the UK has joint UK & US citizenship (born New York, lived here for 50 years). She received a cheque for $1,200 this month from you guys because she earns less than whatever value has been set. She earns quite a bit here actually.She got a letter a week later from Trump saying that he sent it.I don't think it's changed her mind about what she thinks of him. In fact, she'd use it as a downpayment on a hitman if she knew how.

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. I doubt you'll find anyone in the UK with a bad word to say about our NHS.

All of that is just wrong. You've fallen for the lie of the winner takes all, American dream and you have no idea what liberal socialism actually is, you think it's some form of communism - it's not.

I just watched a debate with him and Dawkins and Christian promo of him 'debunking' Hawking and Krauss.The first was just a rehash of all familiar arguments which are too boring to go into, but the second was him talking as a mathematician - or at least at first.After a few minutes it became pretty clear that he hadn't a clue what either of them where actually saying. He didn't understand the difference between mathematical/cosmological definitions of nothing and the layman's understanding of nothing and got into that populist ridicule mode. Really disappointing that he's prepared to let himself down like that.

We are, it's called non-overlapping magisterium. We're always talking about different things but think it's the same.When Hawkings and Krauss etc talk about a universe from nothing it's a different 'nothing' than when you or I talk about it. Neither you nor I understand a cosmological nothing.It only makes mathematical sense, it's not what is meant when we say that there's nothing in the jar.So when your guy is ridiculing the something from nothing idea by pretending it's the same as the empty jar he's being disingenuous, appealing to the ignorant masses. And he does know better.And worse, it makes a reasonable discussion of a really difficult idea impossible between the two sides.It resolves to - because of the laws of gravity, the universe can create itself from nothing. But the law of gravity is not nothing. So how does that work?I don't know and I doubt anyone does. Or if they do, they don't know how to explain it.

What you're saying is that the voice in your head knows better what Jesus wants than the what is written in the bible. You're own personal god.Whatisname has a personal god in his head too and his god tells him that you're going to hell because you are not a Catholic.Now one of you or your gods is wrong.
