Re: Code
Why would you ask him what atheists think? It’s not as if he knows or would bother to find out.
Evolution has given us certain capabilities. It is true that we can foster and develop them but the basics come down to us from our biological history.

Why are you asking another nutjob believer what an atheist thinks? Do you think that he has any chance knowing? Any at all?

as offensive as it sounds, i am of the opinion that atheism is a mental illness
charlie shared a curious anecdote. according to his research into near death experiences, atheists in hell do not actually believe there is no god. they had consciously lied to themselves their entire lives on earth.

it would be better there be no god at all than a god without the sacraments
i don't know how you get by without the sacraments, phat. i really don't. when one has a soul-yearning for christ, a true thirst, confession brings us into communion. according to rad trad catholics, we gain no merit from our prayers when in a state of mortal sin.
life without the interplay of christ and his dearly beloved mother is heartache.

Since your opinion is founded in your fantasies if there is mental illness it is in you. Personally I just think your mind is warped by your devotion to Satan.

There's nothing offensive about mental illness except why your loving god would inflict it on his creation. He loves us, my arse.
But of course, the madman always knows that he's right and the rest of the world is wrong; sadly, our institutions are full of them.

Congratulations, this is the most fanatically lunatic thing I've heard for ages.

Re: Code
The problem is all of this is very vague. What exactly does "superstructure", "matter" and "instructions" mean here.
Depending on how you define things we already know of material events with no cause, or that matter doesn't capture all of reality or that matter itself has the power to create events out of nothing.
So you'd have to be more specific in what all these terms actually mean in order to start discussing what we know of reality.
That's not to mention this engages in the old dichotomy of the only options being:
A certain vague kind materialist reductionism
or
Some form of Christian monotheism
Not only are there other religious views but there is also various other physicalist views or non-physicalist and yet still not religious views.

Re: Code
Oh wow. We have a religious nutjob with another religious nutjob for an alter ego.
This is not good.
Usually the alter ego is an altered personality with different ideas except in this case it's an exact image of the base nutjob but with the ability to talk with dead atheists.
This is well outside the 3rd standard deviation under the curve of mental defect and is the territory where we find violent voices picking up guns and shooting people.
Someone needs to inform the local authorities. Both of these dudes need to be on the "Crazy Person - Potential Murderer" watch list. Their posts and actions need to be recorded as future evidence of how religion compelled them to fall off the deep end and perpetrate yet another reich-wing mass shooting of the innocent.

Re: Code
You have a good point. I cant simply expect everyone to drop their pursuit of answers in deference to my dogma. It could well be that trying to teach others to imitate my experiences is in fact harmful to them even if my dogma were true.
I got on the whole "physicalism" kick because of PaulK, whom I respect for his due diligence at getting to the bottom of these things. I used to think that he went out of his way to remain an atheist and that simply taking a leap of faith would open his skepticism up a bit...but this of course assumes my belief to be true. I have always respected your wisdom and am glad to be able to communicate. Thanks for taking the time to put up with we "nutjobs"...

Evidence Based Belief and Refusal to accept anything unexplained
That sounds too much like a canned answer. You claim to have experienced many of the same (or similar) unexplained events that I have, and you too easily rejected them...as does AZ Paul3, simply because you already conclude that they simply cant happen.

Trust and Belief In Humanity
That's it!!!! Let the government play God. What a novel idea!
As long as the "god" they represent is all inclusive and saves everybody!

I didn't reject them. I put them in the "I don't know" file.
And I didn't conclude that they can't happen. They did happen.
I concluded that there is no reason to accept your explanation.
