More evidence is needed. Faith was arguing that the virus was widespread in November. The virus arriving in December, with cases in February and March does not support that.

Re: It is now proven that California had the first deaths weeks before Feb 29 in Washi
BBC Autopsies on two people who died on 6 February and 17 February show they died with Covid-19. Still no evidence of Faith’s hypothetical November outbreak.

Re: A Lie: Trump Administration Claims About China Lab
From what I’ve seen Pompeo immediately walked back on it as soon as his claim was challenged. Without any admission that he was reversing his position.

Rolling Stone on America’s response to coronavirus
Damning Academic research from Imperial College in London, modeling the U.S. response, estimates that up to 90 percent of COVID-19 deaths could have been prevented had the U.S. moved to shut down by March 2nd. And that’s only the start.

Shenanigans in Florida
Florida Today Florida’s dashboard, providing information on COVID-19 cases was singled out for praise - by Dr Deborah Birx. Now, the project has been taken away from the team that created it, the dashboard has been inaccessible for long periods and when it is up the datasheets are increasingly hard to obtain. And nobody outside the Florida DoH knows why, though there are plenty of suspicions.

Drug treatments may help
Remdesvir shortens recovery time Ars Technica It’s a modest improvement- but still important. One of the worries is that health services may be overwhelmed and cutting the time patients need to stay in hospital will help. Interleukin 7 is being investigated BBC. The coronavirus interferes with T-cell production and interleukin may counter that effect.

Re: Nightmares In Deep South Texas
According to the BBC Arizona is reporting as many cases as the EU. All of it. That is really bad. Lockdown really was needed and the States really should have got their act together - and waited for the figures to be right - before reopening. Many of the Southern States did not.

Re: The Straight Story on Masks
A test - which only looked at transmission from the mask wearer - found that a properly-fitted N95 mask was best. But a surgical mask was very nearly as good, and better than an N95 mask that was not properly fitted. How far this goes for masks protecting the wearer isn’t certain but I suspect that fitting might be even more important. So I think that most people might be better off with the surgical masks. Oh, and please cut the loops of disposable masks before disposing of them. If they get into the environment wildlife can get entangled.
