It's going to be interesting to see what the anti-vac brigade do about that. But if they stick to their dumb beliefs it'll be a self-solving problem.

Apparently the UK pre-bought 40m does - enough for 20m people (it needs two doses 1 month apart). Health service workers and at risk people get the first batch. I wonder how they work out the allocation of the rest? Stock market has gone ballistic. Edited by Tangle, : typo

Just when we thought things were looking up, we now have a new variant of the bug that is between 40 to 100% more transmissible and Christmas is cancelled. ffs. I also have an employee, face down, ventilated, in intensive care not expected to make it and 4 of his close family infected. AstraZeneca vaccine now approved here. Very good news; we have 100m doses and it doesn't need special storage. And it's cheaper than the mRNA vaccines. I may get it by March with a bit of luck

We've just changed strategies from two doses 21 days apart to two doses 3 months apart. The theory being that the first jab will give a high level of protection and we can get that protection into more people faster by delaying the second. I think I just heard on the news that you Yanks are going to stick with the original plan?

In this case the luck involved is where I live. I happen to be near a good health centre and a major hospital. Had I been somewhere else it might be different. (Just like you being born in a Christian country luckily (sic) made you a Christian.) Pure chance. As it happens a new piece of luck is that they're delaying the second dose which means the first dose comes faster to me.
