Re: Doing What Jesus Says
Phat writes:
The thing is, if nobody owned anything, where could He stay? Surely some people needed to own homes.
Why does the home need to be owned by anyone?
Phat writes:
Sounds a bit globalist (and socialist/liberal) to me. In fact, I feel that the reason you don't like my documentary is because it is conservative leaning and expresses worry about Islam taking over Europe...which apparently to you relativists poses no problem. Perhaps the irony of this whole discussion is the meaning of what it means to be and represent Christianity. For many of us who were raised as Christian Nationalists, it was easy to proudly proclaim Jesus from a position of strength. When the Yanks and the Brits(traditionally the main idea of "the West") advanced the cause of freedom, it was under the guise of Christianity.
No, it is because it is nothing but the classic Christian Cult of Ignorance tactic of taking pieces parts out of context and tossing them together to make a salad bar and claiming it is a documentary.
It's obvious that just like evidence, documentary is another word you do not understand.
Phat Nazi Germany was "Christian" and proudly so. Fascist Italy was "Christian" and proudly so.
nd finally you once again confirm the fact that you are simply a Christian because you were born and raised as a Christian Nationalist.
Pitiful. Deplorable. Embarrassing. And likely incurable.
AbE: Missed this silliness
Phat writes:
If Islam actually became the dominant global; religion, I strongly feel that there would be friction with Christians...those who were left.
Very likely with SOME Christians; the ignorant and those disconnected from reality or evidence based thinking.
Christianity and Islam are both Abrahamic religions that worship the same God and hold almost all of the same belief sets. But both religions are filled with ignorant people who simply must have a belief hat THEY are something special, something selected directly by Allah and the other is just heretical.
Fortunately though not all Christians and a Muslims are that ignorant. The reality though is that throughout most of history and even today the two religious people do get along and cooperate and learn from each other.
Remember, if it were not for Islam we would NOT be having this discussion and so called Western Civilization would not even exist.
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and most importantly 0.
What are they Phat?

Surely you are not asking this question. If your only answer is "The State" you are more clueless than I thought.
Fortunately that is NOT my only answer. Stop and think Phat, I honestly believe you could actually do it if you practiced.
Who owns the roads?

The taxpaying pubic. In the case of a home, however, it is highly doubtful that it would be fairly shared. Homes are for permanent residence. We are not a bunch of vagabonds roaming to and fro on the earth.
Phat, you still miss the point.
Are the roads shared fairly? Do some folk rent homes they stay in fore many many years, often decades? Are some folk vagabonds that do move to and fro on the Earth?
Why shouldn't homes be a common property so that there are no homeless except by choice? Why not build homes using tax dollars that then are made available to those in need? Did you know that to a very small extent even a nation as backwards and uncivilized as the USA does already do that?

What would happen to the homes that are owned, were such an edict put in place? Would the values hold? You are talking of socialist theories in the midst of capitalist realities.
Think. Are there both public and private roads?

Re: Doing What Jesus Says
Phat, there is no such thing as "the Modern Church". That is as silly as claiming there is some such thing as "The Bible".
Christianity is as fractured today as it has always been and as always the differences revolve around power, influence, politics and money.
The dogmatic differences today are the same as always, simply one tool to exclude those who challenge or threaten some cult's power, influence, politics and/or money.
And still no one has even tried to address the topic which is "What Is The Holy Spirit?"
And, likely for a good reason. Just as there is no "God" or "Jesus" or "Bible" or "Christian Church" there is no "Holy Spirit". It is as meaningless a phrase as "Jesus is living today" is. It is solely the product of human imagination and means only whatever the person uttering the phrase imagines it might mean and even that seems to devolve into a series of additional meaningless but repeatable catch phrases and dogmatic spiels.

So once again, what exactly is 'The Holy Spirit'?

What is the "Holy Spirit"?
We still haven't had anyone explain just what the "Holy Spirit" is. Trinitarian Christianity Doctrine is pretty clear on what the "Holy Spirit" is NOT but filled with contradictory declarations on what the "Holy Spirit" really is.

Trinitarian Christianity Doctrine is no mystery to me, though it is controversial among humanist sects of Christianity.
Okay, so since it is no mystery to you please explain it.
You claim there is only one God yet there are three separate and individual critters who are each God.
Fact: 1 + 1 + 1 != 1 (a ! means 'not')
You got some 'splainin to do.

Re: What is the "Holy Spirit"?
Nice try but it shows you are simply anther heretic and not a Trinitarian at all. The idea that the Holy Spirit is an aspect of god is blasphemy. Each is an individual under Trinitarian not none are "aspects"
Now see it you can try to explain what the Holy Spirit is in any Trinitarian universe.

First I might ask whether the universe is in fact Monistic, Dualistic, or in fact Trinitarian.
You can ask but it is a really stupid question. It is utterly and totally irrelevant.
The topic is "What is the Holy Ghost" and so far the only attempt to explain it is as some undefined aspect of god which is of course an explanation that got folk excommunicated and in fact killed.

Re: What is the "Holy Spirit"?
No Phat, I am saying what you describe is not Trinitarian but rather blasphemy. And of course the early orthodox church was not Trinitarian. Trinitaranism evolved long after the early church.
