Faux News major objection today is the use of gender pronouns by the democrats.

We have just had a president attempt a coup using his radical alt-reich fascist militia and Faux News is slinging insults to democrats for gender pronouns.

Faux News is a seditionist alt-reich mouthpiece. Their conspiracy to lie Trump into a second term at the expense of our democracy should elicit a backlash against the network but the advertisers and supporters are not American enough to be incensed by these actions. They, as well, support the sedition.

Question whether we can hold our democracy under such relentless deep domestic fascist attacks.

The horned loon that invaded the Capitol is rumoured to be pleading not guilty as he was 'only followng orders', those of his commanding officer, President Trump.

Curious and interesting defense from many angles. Not least because it fingers his commaning officer. Really hope it's true.

Trump avoided giving explicit instructions , so it’s going to be argued. But it is more evidence for incitement.

For me the killer argument is how else were they going to win? Pence wasn’t going along with the craziness, the House wouldn’t pass any objections - and with McConnell opposing it wasn’t even clear that the objections would win in the Senate.

Even if they’d sent a load of death threats to Republican Congressmen it’s hard to see how a demonstration outside the Capitol would have made a difference. Pence was following his Constitutional role and the objections were going to fail.

Trump told them to go out and be strong and they could reverse the election. A demonstration wouldn’t do that and I’m sure they knew that much.

Sorting out the most significant lies of Trump’s term of office is a big task - there are so many. But the attempt has been made.

This thing would (not could) have been a lot bloodier if the mob had managed to capture the congressional leadership as they planned.

Trump's coup failed because the mobsters were somewhat more incompetent than the capitol police.

I wish I could say we escaped from the threat of Fascism but as long as the Christian Cult of ********* remains in the US we will never be free from that threat.

Trump’s presidency started poorly and ended even worse. From the mishandling of the pandemic to his attempts to destroy democracy and sabotage his successor. And he could run again in 2024 and maybe even when if the Republican vote suppression machine pulls out all the stops.

The Republican Party needs to clean house now. It already resembles the Augean Stables and if it is allowed to fester it will get worse. End the sham calls for “unity”, vote to convict Trump and disqualify him from office - and the same for those who openly supported the insurrection. If the Republican Party has any care for the nation they’ll do it.

The goal now is to capture at least 140 Republican House Seats, at least half of the 20 Republican Senate Seats up for reelection and at least three Republican Governorships in 2022 as well as as many State Legislature seats as possible.
