Climate Change Denier comes in from the cold: SCIENCE!!!

For about 20 or so years we had emissions testing here too. It helped get the worst of the old oil burners off the road and forced others to clean up by getting cars tuned etc. We have phased it out now that there are very few older cars left on the road and the new ones are so very much cleaner and stay that way with much less maintenance.It was not worth the cost of running the testing centers under the new circumstances.However, I just had a thought. Are we getting by without screening for polluting cars because of rules and testing done in so many other places that keep the on road fleet cleaner for us. Are we sort of being anti-vaxers?

Why would you have to ask this? If you don't know then you don't know enough to discuss climate science and I think you have been.Thermodynamics says that if more heat flows into a system than flows out the temperature will rise. Easy and obvious, no?Carbon dioxide is more transparent to visible light frequencies than it is to infrared frequencies. Simple enough.So if energy flows in as visible light and is converted to IR more energy will be coming in than leaving.Visible light striking things is converted to IR.So what do you have to conclude?

1. CO2 is a 'greenhouse' gas -- that is, it tends to trap heat in the form of IR radiation.
2. We humans have been releasing large amounts of CO2.Those are simple, clear facts. Do you disagree?And slightly, but only slightly, less simply the amounts of CO2 that we have been freeing are large enough to affect the heat balance of the earth in the direction of warming. Do you have the numbers for the loss of power from various sources in Texas?I think you will find that some wind failed because, unlike other places where it is much colder for much longer, they didn't winterize the wind turbines either. But you may find that the loss from that source was much smaller than the loss from the fossil fuel sources.You may also find that the largest loss of generating capacity was from the fossils fuel generating facilities (largest by a large multiple over the wind sources).You might also note the presence of residential (and some commercial eg. SpaceX) solar that kept on supplying power when the grid was buggered.Let's see your data and then we can discuss the actual source of the problem.You might also explain El Paso while you are at it.

That's not true!! I've had my Y for almost a year and had to put air in the tires twice until they seated in. It cost me $3!!!! (of course, that's Canadian dollars so not so much)Of course, regular yearly service on the Audi was 500 to 1,000 and the gas (being premium and being in the most expensive area for gas in North America) was 20 to 25 cents / km. My electricity cost is about 2 cents per km .
