I'm not mocking...I'm simply tryna be funny. But you are right in that if an Endtimes scenario were to play out in any degree, food would be far more valuable than Gold. But Gold and Silver will go a lot farther than any BitCoin, Paper Currency, or coinage from any country.

You're constantly mocking the very idea of giving to the poor.

Don't bet on it. There will always be some people who are dumb enough to trade their food away for gold but evolution will weed them out.

Re: Wannabe Conservative Thinkers
Thinking that "transcends nationalism" is not an easy thing to come by. Socialism ("Workers of the world unite!") was no match for forces like those that tore apart the USSR. Even religion can't compete (unless it means leaving nations in ruins, like the islamists of the Taliban or Boko Haram): just look at President Biden proclaiming himself a Catholic while turning up his nose at their pro-life dogma.

Re: Wannabe Conservative Thinkers
Oh, I quite agree, we should strive for a society where the ambulance comes for those who are sick or injured, the food is there for those who are down on their luck and the people screaming at their demons in the public square are taken to institutions for medical care rather than penal incarceration or, worse, simply allowed to keep screaming because it is one of their "civil rights" to do so. I'm sure you can think of many other such examples.
But somehow our society manages to combine the worst of "liberal" and "conservative" thinking on issues like these.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 writes:
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
Jesus told the Rich Young Ruler what he must do (what he should purpose in his heart) but never made him do it.
Paul reminds us of the same charge. The Creator of all seen and unseen loves when you purpose in your heart to do His will, but He never forces us to do it...He simply informs us of what should be primary in our heart.

Protecting your Ass(ets)
There will always be some people who are dumb enough to trade their food away for gold but evolution will weed them out.
I never suggested trading food for gold. I DO suggest that at this point in time it would be wise to trade some of your paper dollars, stocks, bonds, and fiat assets in exchange for gold and silver. This will preserve your wealth as the next great reset(correction) plays out globally.
And before you go off, I'.m not suggesting hoarding wealth. The more you preserve what you have (or had) the more you can hand out spare change later rather than being among the beggars yourself.

Stop saying "mandatory". I have never, repeat never, suggested that "we" should make anything mandatory. I have told you that many times. Stop ignoring it.
It's Jesus who makes it mandatory - for you.

I didn't say you did. I was pointing out how stupid it is to value gold above all else. As people keep telling you, it's just another medium of exchange.

It doesn't matter because I don't have any wealth.

So I should tell the hungry person I'll feed him in a few years when more interest has accrued? What a stupid thing to suggest.

No. You use wisdom with what little (or lot) of assets you have.Feed them as you feed yourself but dont give them everything at once. You are at or nearly at full retirement age. Do you really plan on giving up all you have and throw yourself at the mercy of the Canadian Government? Is it not wise to invest in a financial insurance policy? Because that's essentially what Gold and Silver are. Having a modest savings account that gains zero interest and gets whittled down year after year as inflation rises is foolish.
I will once again state that silver bullion is about the best investment value on the planet for the next 5-10 years, and that may be all the time we have left. Teach a man to fish rather than giving all of your fish away and being as broke as the ones you were trying to help.

Of course, that's wise. But not by buying into gold and silver.
Because that's essentially what Gold and Silver are.
No, they aren't. If anything, they are scams run by some rich people to suck money out of fools like Phat. And it seems to be working -- for those rich scammers. As PT Barnum allegedly said, "there's a sucker born every minute."

Re: Protecting your Ass(ets)
You guys are wrong about this one. Time will tell for certain, however.
I say silver will be above 35.00oz within the next year and will top 40.00 oz by the end of Biden's first term.
Besides...if "they" are scams, why do the Central Banks own so much gold and why would it be in their interests to keep the market price low? Their product, the dollar, is losing value at 5% per year.

Here's a question for you -- actually, several questions:
(1) Who is selling you this silver?
(2) Who is giving you the advice on buying silver? Is it the same person as the seller?
(3) If the advice to buy silver is good, why is he selling it? Shouldn't he be holding onto it so that its value will increase.
I'm suggesting that the people who are selling silver to you are not following their own advice. Shouldn't that be troubling?

Re: Protecting your Ass(ets)
Thanks for asking me these questions, nwr. I always like being challenged...even when I don't like it!
1) Who is selling you this silver?
Bernie at Rocky Mountain Coin. He never pushes it though. I already knew what I wanted when I met him.
(2) Who is giving you the advice on buying silver? Is it the same person as the seller?
No. I give Bernie advice if anything. He and I know what he makes off me and the contractual relationship is honest.
(3) If the advice to buy silver is good, why is he selling it? Shouldn't he be holding onto it so that its value will increase?
For every ounce he sells, he makes at least $9.00....more for rare coins. He also buys it from people at spot price. He claims to own some himself but that's his business. I listen to different people on YouTube. Though always skeptical, I feel that their advice and perspective is not a con.
I'm suggesting that the people who are selling silver to you are not following their own advice. Shouldn't that be troubling?
To the best of my knowledge, they all also own silver.

The fact remains, that they have apparently decided that they can make more money by selling silver than by owning it.
