Re: Production Backs The Dollar
What I'm talking about is interest on the debt outstanding. You seem to refer to interest on the yearly deficit.

Phats Health Update (November 1st,2021)
Well...I hate to admit it but the good Lord insists that I do.
My diabetes is out of control.
I got my test results back from South Suburban Family Medicine. They did recent bloodwork and I thought that I was finally doing better at using my common sense at controlling my diabetes. Evidently Not. It is out of control (A1C is 11.8) and they urgently insist that I go back to an Endocrinologist, which they referred me to. It's not that the Lo-Carb approach was wrong, however. It is simply that like many things in my life, I talked about it yet never had the discipline to actually do it. This past year I lost a toe. Percy, you may be right. I could lose my life very soon if I don't get this problem addressed with the best resources science has to offer coupled with the now obvious requirement that I listen to what the Doctors tell me.
So much of what EvC has told me has been right. The only point I will hold on to that I honestly feel that you guys don't understand is that God is real and alive through Jesus Christ. I plan on being a living example rather than a dying Martyr hoisted on his own Far Right Petard, however. You won't see me post here as much as I need to fully focus on my own health. I will post occasionally, however, and I plan on doing my best at listening to what the Doctors tell me I must do. I also plan on praying more every day.
I have been fasting the past 2 days and am now eating the best I know how. I see the Endocrinologists next week and I plan on lowering this 11.8 down to a goal of under 8.0 by the end of the year.
Arguing about whether or not the dollar will crash and whether or not Gold and Silver will rise seems rather unimportant to me today. The only number that matters to me at this point is my A1C.
Im not going to leave forever, as marc9000 says he may do. I see that he gets a lot of his information off of Fox, but I might ask for us to define Fascist since we are also defining Socialist.
I am a political moderate and I do not agree with Democratic Principles if they make me give my money to either National or Global causes. I will be judged in this life by what I do rather than what I say.
Let's just leave it at that as I now concentrate on my own health.
Though we all usually disagree, I love you all. Even Marc9000 and Lamark, the member whose political views I cannot yet figure out.
But that's an argument for another day, provided I live that long.

Re: The Pandemic Accelerated My Health Problems
A belated thanks for trying to get my attention 4 months ago. This is my last chance. I know that I talk about myself a lot here at your Forum, but I will keep you guys updated on my health. I think I can do it with God's help, as well as the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center in Englewood, Colorado. Stay tuned.

Re: My comment on the A1C test was relative to AzPaul's comment.
Despite what everyone may think, I dont use google to manage my health nor to get medical advice. My Doctors are well aware of my numbers as am I. I understand diabetes better than most here at this website.
But thanks for initiating the conversation.

Type 1 and Type 2
LNA writes:
So it does not matter what anybody eats?
Or how often they eat?
Just take insulin?
What about pre-diabetics? Doctors will not prescribe insulin, nor will they prescribe needles & a testing kit. These are not over-the-counter items, right?
So what is your "solution", exactly?
Allow me to share my foibles, arrogant assumptions, and pro and con experiences with my diabetes over the years. Lets start with the year 2000. I had a rather inept Doctor at that time who would prescribe for me anything that I asked for. I had just recently been diagnosed with Type II diabetes and after becoming worried over something I read in a book by Richard Bernstein, (A Type I himself) I became worried that my Pancreatic Beta cells would burn out and requested that the Doctor put me on insulin. A fatal mistake at the time. Had I done then what I know now, I would have beaten the Type II without Insulin...but I was stubborn in that I wanted to eat whatever I wanted. I simply increased the insulin in order to cover the sin, but in reality, I was making myself more insulin resistant. Excess insulin leads to further insulin resistance...I now know but likely I've already jacked my health up for one primary reason---I don't listen. I think I know everything and yet though I may be well informed I never even listened to my own advice to myself! Years later, after I went to good endocrinologists (who in my opinion gave me too much insulin--they never measured what I actually needed) So the next step I took was going to what I should have done in the beginning--going to lo-carb advocates. Dr.Jason Fung, a nephrologist (Kidney specialist) is the prime spokesman for this discipline. It works only if you follow the advice...and again I did not follow the advice. This brings us to now. I need to go back on insulin in order to lower my sugars. And I need to listen to what I am told to eat.

Percy writes:
There is only one alternative for you now: insulin. You need insulin in one or more of the many provided forms along with self monitoring so you know when and how much to take and can establish a routine of meals and medication.
Agreed. I am back in St. Louis visiting my sister. I cant see the new endocrinologist for two weeks but I am on an aggressive lo carb diet and am taking my long acting insulin until then. By the time i see him and have another blood sugar measurement i will have finally dutifully done my best without added insulin (which i cant get yet anyway) and will provide the new doctor with my best possible condition to diagnose needed insulin. If my blood sugars have not decreased and haveincreased it will confirm that lo carb will no longer help. If they have decreased the insulin likely wont be overprescribed. I sense im stable though high....and ive had a two week run at strict lo-carb. I am aware of the seriousness of my future course of action and will listen to the instructions of the new endocrinologist. Stay tuned

As an Old Fart that is also diabetic it can be managed.
It is NOT easy and NOT always pleasant and almost NEVER what you wanted to do, but it can be done.
I woke up early and feel great! I abstained from carbohydrates on Thanksgiving as I have aggressively done for the past three weeks. I ate organic chicken(which was served rather than Turkey) and a good salad. I avoided the starches and sugars...and have been doing so aggressively for the past month. My blood sugars are still higher than normal but are coming down. Other indications that I am on the right path are improved eyesight (used to be blurry) improved muscle strength(which was weaker due to insulin resistance) and better utilization of the insulin I do take.
The Endocrinologist cant see me before the end of the year now and I wanted him to have an accurate reading of my body's true needs regarding insulin rather than overprescribing simply to lower the blood sugars. I will request an A1C test at the end of December even though it will only represent a 2-month reading rather than a 3-month reading. If it comes back markedly lower it will be a positive sign as to the direction my future care will take. If it does not markedly change, I am in trouble for the longer term.
Even though A1C has a three-month window, the blood continually changes as new blood cells are made and old ones die. My readings are improving (morning 177 vs over 200 and occasionally 300 a month ago even with medications) I am slowly making my way back to good control.
