It's the cat's fault
It is not a matter of trading players. The problems with team D are with the general manager and owner. They are incompetent.
There is plenty of talent in the farm league but the GM cannot seem to bring them to the attention of the owner and get them on the field.
The ownership, good gawd, is hopelessly distracted by cats and vaxx memes on the internet and couldn’t be bothered to field a competent team.
Team R has the advantage. Their GM need not fret for talent since narcissistic, racist, science morons naturally percolate up in the party by being fascist and loud. And their ownership? Solid, fanatical, afraid, motivated by lies and deceit, the finest base of support for a raising fascist state.

Re: It's the cat's fault
The GMs are the party leadership, not just the congressional ones who are the coaches.
The ownership is us. Both sides.
Bad extension of your analogy. I'll just leave now.

Re: oh well....
You started a nice thread. Entertaining. "Oh well", nothing. You did good. Thank you.
