There was some news about this back in November. It has been quiet ever since. As far as I can tell there have been no published results on the Phase 1 trial.
What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. -Christopher Hitchens Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness. If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

I want to get this in early before the conspiracies latch on. This will be twisted to no end of obfuscation claiming Big Pharma-China-CDC invented covid to control the minds of the world for ... purpose.
Still don't know purpose but now we got proof. I just heard from my grandson, who is in the Red Horse Battalion of the Air Force, stationed on Guam, that he's recovering from a mild case of Covid. He's been in quarantine for more than a week and was fully vaccinated but not boostered yet.

Scientific American has a special issue march 2022. How Covid Changed the World, Lessons from 2 Years of Emergency Science, Upheaval and Loss.
I have only read a couple articles so far, but it is good to see the whole pandemic reported on from many different perspectives and effects. I have had some interesting talks with my 16 year old granddaughter about the impact this has all had on her life. The disruption of her 8th, 9th, and 10th grades in school and her social life has been tremendous. And this is a unique event, in that it affects every other kid on the whole planet and no one living has experienced this type of global catastrophe before. No one, not even the oldest of us has been through it before. The kids seem to get it, they are all having their lives disrupted, all the kids everywhere, share this event. What if Eleanor Roosevelt had wings? -- Monty Python One important characteristic of a theory is that is has survived repeated attempts to falsify it. The Polio period pre-vaccine might come close.
I can remember when all the pools were closed and things like the fair and fireman's bull roast and the shrimp feast and kids simply didn't gather together even though it was summer. The big difference was duration. The polio periods lasted weeks or months. My Website: My Website

Covid is not the threat...
Tyranny is the threat and many foolish people are supporting it

The mask mandates have expired here in Oregon this weekend. It will be interesting to see if Covid rates rise again. Our family will continue to avoid other people and will continue to wear masks when contact is unavoidable.

All COVID restrictions were removed a couple of weeks ago here. Everything is now back to normal. Everything fully open, almost like COVID never happened.
There's a high and increasing rate of infection but it's mostly like having a cold. We're living with it now. Pending a new variant of course.Je suis Charlie. Je suis Ahmed. Je suis Juif. When you get heckled by mask-holes for wearing your mask at the store, I heard a couple responses:

How does Ron DeSantis sleep at night? is an op-ed piece by Dana Milbank in The Washington Post that describes a couple looks at the data revealing that the highest death rates have been in states led by Republican governors.
Doug Haddix produced a report using CDC data that showed that since last July the 14 states with the highest death rates were all led by Republican governors, including Florida, Ohio, Arizona and Georgia, all around 140 deaths per 100,000. By contrast DC was at 27 and California at 58. Charles Gaba, a health-care analyst best known for running numbers related to Obabacare, used Johns Hopkins numbers and got largely the same results. Of course we knew this already. The only thing new here is that they used more recent data. So now we know that both early and late in the pandemic, living in a red state is bad for your health. A side comment: mask mandates and indoor constraints falling by the wayside all across the country. Many think this too soon, myself among them. The end of the pandemic is in sight, but ceasing our efforts now is akin to jumping out of an airplane just because the airport is within sight. The situation has improved enough that opening things up and setting our masks aside will do less harm than when the pandemic was raging, but it still means that some people will die needlessly. Well, at least they were free. --Percy PS: I post a lot of links to Washington Post articles, but I just noticed that they've dropped their "10 free articles per month" policy. It's now completely behind a paywall, except for their covid pages. I'll begin quoting more and/or describing more of what articles say. Same for the New York Times. Edited by Percy, : Typo.

I have a Times subscription, but post a lot of their articles to Facebook. Usually MSN, Yahoo or Apple posts the same article. Search by the article title.
