Re: Wannabe Conservative Thinkers
Ringo was embarrassed out of ignorance of some random tidbit of pop culture. So Ringo threw a hissy fit.
Wow.
I can't imagine what would happen to Ringo's head if Ringo were discovered to be ignorant of something substantive. Maybe an explosion like something out of Scanners?
Oh. Dear. Another pop culture reference . . .

Psychobabble?

"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.

If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

I always have to follow the links backward to figure out what the hell you're dribbling about.
There was no embarrassment. You made a reference that I didn't recognize and I asked you to clarify. You still haven't done so.
You also lied about it, calling it an "offhand remark" when, in fact, it was the entirety of your post Message 343.

I'm sure you can't.

In fact, I am ignorant about many substantive things. Everybody is.
Y'know what I do when I'm ignorant about something? I ASK!
And intelligent, honest posters ANSWER. They don't call a simple question a "hissy fit".

Sara, Sara, Sara! Lets move on. I know that some of us come to EvC simply to vent, but the best way to stay out of the Troll Club is to give the members some respect. And start a new conversation rather than analyzing an old one to death!
So let's go global. Who Are the Global Villains? Conservatives or Liberals?
And how about that little war in Europe! I see Putin as an autocrat and an authoritarian. Im not sure but I think he is mostly Conservative. He yearns for the old Soviet Union. I also think he sees the future of the world and he sees an endgame. And he does not want to be on the sidelines watching.

I believe that in the near future we will have a black swan event. For the West, it will be financial. Being a liberal, do you even see it or is it hidden from your perception?

True. But then again, you are optimistic about humanism succeeding on this planet and hope that we can all get along for sure.
I suppose I shouldn't argue. The Biblical Christians await a rescuer rather than rolling up their sleeves and pitching in. I get nervous when there is no clear leader.

No stupido!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not an optimist. Stop saying utterly stupid things.
I am a realist and know for a fact that there is not now and never has been any option other than humans determining success or failure.
My belief is that you are typical of most humans and thus there is almost no chance of there being success.
You and those like you are the problem and there is not any evidence or even any suggestion that any god or God or Jesus can do anything.

Hear, hear! Im all in favor of free speech. I still think you are wrong about the US Dollar and the way repayment of the "debt" appears so logical. It is a Black Swan Event. We are at 1 minute to midnite. This little spat in Europe will accelerate and expose the weaknesses in the Western financial system.
Since its a long video, I will suggest listening at 7:30. Adam Baretta explains the likely scenario quite well.
If you think you are wasting time, I will attempt to explain further in my own words and through the transcript but until you hear what I listen to, you cant advise me why my thinking is wrong and why yours is correct. The Western economy and the US dollar are fragile.

Re: Wannabe Conservative Thinkers
So I take it that aside from rolling up your sleeves you see no value in prayer except as a recited ritual in the church.
All jabberwocky aside, I'm again trying to convince everyone that we all are in deep doo and this war in Europe won't help the United States and the delusional Fed from kicking the can down the road any longer. Our day of reckoning is at hand.
Putin, for all of his megalomaniacal worldview, expects Russians to get used to suffering in order to make them tougher. He (likely correctly) predicts that the United States and the West won't adapt to suffering easily.
Would you agree that he is an authoritarian despot? Do you think that he sees the reality of the future of the planet better than most Western people? After all, we are still arguing about global warming over here. He is attempting to seize the Ukrainian breadbasket in anticipation of the tough times ahead.
Personally, I think that you think we have more time than we actually do to fix our broken system.

We can keep talking as we live through reality together!
One reality exposed in the video is the fact that the human brain cannot process a Black Swan event. Until it happens.
