I grow. Then I blast my own BHO, purge it in vacuum, wash it with ethanol, filter, and vacuum purge it again.

I have almost 4 pounds of high quality buds from last year's crop that I would like to process that way. I need to research the process.

Re: Happy Holiday!
I first sampled cannabis 55 years ago. I mostly smoked it all that time.
After 6 months of vaping clean dabs, my doctor remarked on the dramatic improvement in my wheeze at an annual exam.
Being old school (doctors write too much down, medical cards put you on a list, etc-- like Mao's announced tolerance for dissent, "Let 10,000 Flowers Bloom," they look like self-reporting to me), I told her nothing.
I had none of the gear. An extraction column, vacuum pump and chamber set me back about $350. Butane and ethanol costs are trivial.

Re: Happy Holiday!
My first time was 1969. I grew some in 1976 and smoked until the mid 80s. I started smoking again in 2013 on a trip to New Mexico and Arizona camping with my 2 best friends. Smoked more regularly once it was legal recreationally here. Grew 4 plants in 2020 and clones from them in 2021. I like the vaping oil since AZ told me how it works.
Being old school (doctors write too much down, medical cards put you on a list, etc--
I never told my GP about cannabis and I mentioned it briefly with my new one after the old guy retired. I told the new guy I didn't want it anywhere in my record and he honored my request. Insurance companies are looking for any contrived reason not pay out.
I had none of the gear. An extraction column, vacuum pump and chamber set me back about $350. Butane and ethanol costs are trivial.
Well, I have a vacuum pump and a chamber I made from an old pressure cooker many years ago to use as a vacuum desiccation chamber for preserving dragonfly colors (freeze drying experiments). Immersion in acetone for 12-24 hours turns out to preserve colors better. I also have a really nice glass distillation apparatus that I need to figure out a cool function for...

Re: Happy Holiday!
I believe such a distillation apparatus is used by some to separate THC, CBD, and the terpenes, allowing one to use a single cannabis component or to create custom blends. The kitchen chemistry I use can't do that, but it does produce a full profile of the plant, retaining the "entourage effect" while eliminating the plant waxes, lipids, chlorophyll, etc.
I've sampled pure THC -- not my cup of tea.

Ritual.
You guys are really into this thing.
I have rolled fewer joints than I can count on two hands and one shoe off. Friends did the honors. I used hookahs and pipes. I had a big hookah with 3 tubes. That was fun. Lost it in the divorce. These days my only apparatus are two battery units for my store bought vape cartridges. I load them one sativa one indica.
My complete ritual now involves picking up my vape, taking a hit or two or three and putting it back next to her sister in their prominent place on my desk. Available 24/7. No vacuum pumps, chambers, solvents, glassware, gas chromatographs or any other type of advanced lab equipment. I’m thinking you guys are having more fun with this than I am.
And, Tany, your bug populations are crashing the world over. I knew about the north american crash of bugs and birds but hadn't seen the global stuff.
This is bad.

Yep, pesticides, pollution, habitat loss, invasive species and finally climate change, and 8 billion humans alive at the same time have doomed the most successful organisms in the history of life, and us too.
